I did both. It was for my godson's wedding. I read a verse at church & gave a toast at the reception. I am close to him so I made a David Lettreman Top 10 about him growing up complete with props & pictures. He loved it.

I was asked to by one of my friends to read a poem at her wedding, I declined because I didn't think her & her man should be married, shocking enough, they were divorced less than a year after the wedding.
