You have to REALLY be careful of 'free' music sites... all of them. Much of the free music comes with trojans and viruses.

I know of several free sites, but, really don't want to steer you that way.

There are several SAFE pay sites that are VERY easy to download. I personally like Amazon, most songs are .79¢ to .99¢ each. You can also borrow music CD's, and download it to your computer.

Just be careful !

Limewire==Viruses

I'd do like Char said; if you don't want to pay,
just copy your CDs to your computer's hard drive and put the songs you want on the mp3 player that way.

Too much risk involved in downloading from the 'free' sites

I agree with the others that oftentimes, free downloads can be suspicious, so make sure if you do go that route that you have your anti-virus working and updated.

One site I've used is Rapidshare.com. Wikipedia says "RapidShare is a Swiss German-owned one-click hosting pay- and free-service (with certain restrictions and limitations) website that operates from Switzerland and is financed by the subscriptions of paying users. RapidShare is one of the world's largest file-hosting sites, with 10 petabytes of files on its servers, and handling up to three million users simultaneously."

If you use a Rapidshare search engine, such as rapidlibrary.com, you can view what is available and choose to download. I've gotten some recent Epica mp3s from there.

Honestly, the best place I've used for both convenience and ease of use is Amazon.
Good luck!

Just heard on the radio....Limewire is no more!

There's a legal notice on their website now.

Not sure what took so long......they've been breaking the law for over 10 yrs now!

The recording industry (I forget specific name of organization) is suing them for over $1 Billion!
