not all states will consider it legal and binding unless the test was administered by an outside 3rd party. Proof that the dna sample was from that specific [erson.
Anyone can claim they swabbed their child, when in reality, it was another child...
Or another adult was used.
I know, the sell them here, with a disclaimer that the store put out stating that it may not be binding, check with your court first.

I'm not sure if these tests are to establish paternity. I think these are more for diagnostic testing. The $119 is for the kit itself. I believe it is several hundeds of dollars to get the results.
I had to have a genetic test done from my doctor, a BRACA test. This test was $3,250.00. Thankfully my insurance covered it sinceI have had 2 branch family members who had breast cancer. They also wanted to do one for adbominal cancers but right nw my risk of developing abdominal cancer in my lifetime is 75% so there really isn't a need to have the test done. We already know what it will say.
Knowing this fact though, I have changed my lifestyle & dietary habits.

The $ 119.00 includes the testing. The test wouldn't stand up in court and the ones for paternity in court are very expensive. I have had 2 guy friends that had to have it done to prove they were not the father of a child. Unfortunately for both of them they were forced to pay for the testing. It should have been the idiot claiming they were the father that should have paid for the tests. Neither one of them were the fathers of the kids they supposedly fathered.

I think you're right that the person making the claim should be the one to pay it. I would imagine if it was two hundred bucks a pop maybe they'd think twice about saying it was 8 different guys.

all test results sent in,have to be signed by the people on the birth cert, the cost for the results is 119,and then to have it filed,so it can be used in court, cost you 200-300 hundred more,it will stand up in a court of law,if its done right, and filed right, the company who does the test, keeps the results on file,so it can be used in court-as long as its done right, and signed by both parents, its legal(it is going through a third party),or chain. i like to think most people are honest, but then i know some are not,so to try to do this wrong, would be a waste of money-do it right, and it could be good for you and the child invovled

I can't imagine this being legally binding anywhere in the country. I can pretty much sign any name I want to if no certified third party is watching.

I think if it turns out they are not the Father, then the woman should have to reimburse the man. Really if the woman wasn't fooling around with more than one guy then it wouldn't be an issue!
