are any rooms "off limits?"

When I was growing up we ate in the dining room on Thanksgiving and Christmas and that was it.

The living room was reserved for when we had company.

Now with my family we use the den and living room equally and although we don't eat in the dining room every night it is used quite a few times each month.

I don't have a dining room, if we eat in the living room it is on TV trays. We almost always eat at the kitchen table.

Occasionally use the dining room table but mostly in the den on tv trays. The living room is just a walk through to get to the rest of the house from the den.

When I was young (under 10) we ate at the table every single day. As I got older and when my mom went back to work, we just ate wherever we sat down.

When my kids were little, we always ate at the table no matter what. As they get older and I went back to work we eat wherever :( We do try to make a point to eat together every week. It doesn't always happen, but we try. We do everything else together, so I figure that makes up for not eating together lol

Since I own a couple of Traffic Exchanges and am doing online marketing, I do most of my eating at my desk. This way I can keep monitoring my sites..

Our living room and dining room are one big giant room...and they are primarily 'walk through' rooms. We use the dining room on holidays or whenever we have more than 6 people eating dinner. They aren't off-limits...but we have a large family room where we spent most of our time. We have a table in between the kitchen and family room and that's where we eat most of the time.

we usually eat at the table most of the time, but there are times we eat in the living room, eating supper is not allowed in the bedrooms

Since there's only the two of us, usually we eat in the living room.

We don't have a dining room or a separate living room/den... It's just us, so we usually eat in front of the TV. We tried the table thing... but it just didn't stick. The only room that's off limits is off limits to the dogs and only because there's a parrot in there they think is fun to piss off.

We eat at the table which is in the dining room which has a large opening to the family room which holds the big screen TV. I'm sure if it wasn't set up that way then we'd probably eat in the family room in front of the TV.

We have a kitchen/dining area, with plenty of room for a kitchen table, but we can't use the table because we always have a 1000 pc jigsaw puzzle on it. So we eat wherever we want. When my kids were at home we didn't do puzzles and even if we did, they would have had to be done elsewhere because we liked to eat together.

We eat supper/dinner at the kitchen table every night as a family. Only certain snacks are allowed in the living room. No food in the bedrooms.

It's summer so I eat outside on my deck table.

My house is for living so no room in my home is off limits. My dining room, kitchen and family room are all open and we always sit at the dining rm table for dinner but sometimes for breakfast or lunch we will sit at the island in the kitchen. TV is always off for dinner. We do sit in my living room too. Unfortunately its separate from the rest of the 1st floor so its more formal but we use it if we just want to sit and read, sit by the fire etc etc. My dogs usually sleep on the furniture in there. LOL

No one can eat in the bedrooms, or at the computer.
We have no dining table right now (in storage 1400 miles away)
But we have a marble coffee table: so all meals are there. TV is off, so it is MEAL time

We eat in the kitchen or living room, the dining room is when we have enough company that we are forced to, usually holidays.

I don't have a dining room either. I eat in the kitchen.

Eating in the bedroom is off limits.

When I lived at home, we always ate dinner together at the kitchen table, and at the dining room table on holidays. I really miss all that.
