I am looking for some low cost things to do. Of course , I think I have thought of everything but maybe I haven't. It is too hot right now to do much of anything outside but it will eventually cool off. We are retired and enjoy staying home but sometimes we just want to go out and do something.
I realize different areas have different things but somethings are found in almost all places.

Things I have come up with:
Botanical Gardens- free here
Library
Shopping at Galleria-but this isn't always inexpensive
$1.00 movie
Sitting at Park-I can't walk too good
Visiting family/friends Family all work, we don't do drop in on our family/friends.

I guess I am lucky to live in Michigan.
Our local town has free concerts on the courthouse lawn every friday night
free movies in the park every sat. night
next town over has free concerts on sundays
a festival basically every weekend in michigan somewhere
we also do bike nights at local places, which are free.
car shows every night somewhere around here.
we walk through the local cemetaries a lot too.

just be creative when you look things up online, call your local chamber of converse.

one thing that isn't free here: they actually expect people to pay 10.00 a day to go to the local lake in town. which by the way, you dont want to swim in or eat fish out of.

good luck!!!

Try calling or emailing your convention and visitors bureau. They can usually give you some great ideas.

Bank of America has the free museum program for 27 states. There's none in Alabama but maybe this might be helpful to some other members. :)

We went to the zoo today, free zoo days sponsered by a local grocery store.
