Sheen, Mueller Could Lose Twin Boys

After Charlie Sheen allegedly threatened to kill his 32-year old wife of three years on Dec. 25 with a four-inch switchblade, the couple are being investigated by Los Angeles County's Department of Children and Family Services and could potentially have their nine-month-old twin boys, Max and Bob, taken away from them temporarily, a DCFS insider tells HollywoodLife. "When Charlie and his family step off the plane in California, they'll be greeted by social workers," the source says, explaining that both parents will be closely monitored, even drug tested three-to-five times a week.

On Christmas morning, Sheen was taken into police custody on suspicion of assaulting Brooke Mueller. The actor hasn't been charged and was released Friday after posting an $8,500 bond. Prosecutors will determine whether to file charges. DCFS was made aware of the situation immediately by Colorado law enforcement and has started an investigation of the Sheen family situation, the source told HollywoodLife.

Because of its high-profile nature, the Sheen case is being handled by DCFS' "Case Sensitive Unit," which means two social workers have been assigned to investigate, rather than the usual one. "They'll have a primary and a secondary social worker on this case," the insider says. "The primary social worker will report and the secondary is only there for back-up."

Although Sheen's charges in Colorado won't be prosecuted in court until February, the DCFS case will go to court as soon as possible.

"Most likely a third party will [move in] with the family," the source says. "It could be a grandmother, mother, sister, anyone with a clean record that is cleared by the court."

Because of Sheen's history of domestic violence and substance abuse and Mueller's reported battle with alcohol and drugs, a court could go as far as determining that both are unfit as parents, and the children might be temporarily placed with another guardian, the source says.

Charlie & Brooke Try to 'Save Their Marriage'

Charlie Sheen's Christmas Day arrest in Aspen, Colo., for allegedly placing a knife against wife Brooke Mueller's throat and threatening to have her killed apparently isn't enough to break up their marriage. Seems they have decided reconciliation is the way to go. "Brooke and Charlie are very passionate about each other, they love each other and want to try and save their marriage," Mueller's attorney, Yale Galanter, told People magazine on Wednesday. "They had a bad night and want to get beyond it. They want to try and resolve their issues." Sheen's attorney
confirms to The Associated Press that they're trying to patch things up. Galanter says he's seeking to lift the protective order against Sheen, 44, so he and Mueller, 32, can reopen communication and "work on resolving the conflicts in their marriage."

Hanes drops ads featuring Charlie Sheen
1 hr 5 mins ago

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Hanesbrands has ended its advertising campaign featuring Charlie Sheen because of domestic violence charges filed against the actor, a company spokesman said Wednesday.

Spokesman Matt Hall said the seriousness of the allegations against the 44-year-old actor made the decision necessary.

"It's a pretty standard, straightforward call when somebody who's in your commercials is arrested on suspicion of something of this magnitude," Hall said. "And we would suspend the ads both for the company and, really, for Mr. Sheen and his family as well. Given the publicity, it makes sense to not air those ads during that time."

Hall said the television ads were stopped effective Dec. 28, the first business day after Sheen was arrested. He said some print ads will continue to appear into the spring.

"Unfortunately, the production schedule of those publications do not allow us to pull those ads," Hall said.

The "Two and a Half Men" star was arrested in Aspen, Colo., on Christmas Day on charges including felony menacing and domestic violence. His wife Brooke Sheen told police he put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. Sheen denies the allegations.

His publicist Stan Rosenfield says the actor has no comment on the Hanes decision. Hanes is based in Winston-Salem.

Hall says Sheen wouldn't have been retained when his contract expired in the middle of the year. He says Sheen has been a pitchman for almost two years. Hall also said there would be minimal impact from pulling the ads.

"We have other commercials. We have commercials for our socks, and so we'll probably push those commercials some more," he said. "We really don't view the first half of the year as a marketing-critical time for the advertiser, so we don't think there's any detriment to the brand by not having the opportunity to run these ads if we wanted to."

The ads feature Sheen and basketball legend Michael Jordan, a longtime spokesman for Hanes. In the series, Sheen is seen in several settings telling Jordan about the Hanes underwear he's wearing. Jordan drives away from Sheen in one of the ads; in another spot, Sheen backs his car over a bellstand and an outdoor heater after seeing Jordan in a parking lot.

Sheen's Colo. court hearing postponed until Friday

2 hrs 3 mins ago
ASPEN, Colo. – A hearing to determine whether to modify a court order preventing Charlie Sheen and his wife, Brooke, from contacting each other was postponed until Friday because Brooke Sheen underwent surgery for an oral infection.

Brooke Sheen's attorney, Yale Galanter, asked the court to allow his client to participate in Wednesday's scheduled hearing by telephone, citing Tuesday's surgery. Pitkin County District Court Judge James Boyd denied the motion but did reschedule the hearing for 10 a.m. Friday.

Police in this ski resort town about 200 miles west of Denver arrested Charlie Sheen on Dec. 25 on suspicion of felony menacing, second-degree assault and criminal mischief.

A police officer's arrest affidavit quoted Brooke Sheen as saying the actor had pinned her on a bed while holding a knife to her throat and telling her that she "better be in fear." The officer said Brooke Sheen reported her husband also told her that he could hire ex-police "who know how to get the job done and they won't leave any trace."

Charlie Sheen denies threatening his wife. His initial court appearance on the charges is scheduled for Feb. 8.

Both Sheen and his wife are expected to ask Boyd on Friday to throw out or revise a protection order that prevents the couple from contacting each other. Prosecutors have opposed the request.

Sheen was preparing to leave Los Angeles for Aspen for Wednesday's hearing when he learned it was postponed, said his agent, Stan Rosenfield. He intends to appear on Friday, Rosenfield said.

Galanter said Brooke Sheen, currently at her home in Los Angeles, also intends to be in Aspen for Friday's hearing.

Charlie Sheen, 44, stars in the CBS comedy "Two and a Half Men."

Brooke Mueller in Rehab for Substance Abuse?

Brooke Mueller has checked herself into rehab, TMZ.com reports.

According to TMZ, Mueller checked into The Canyon facility in Malibu on Feb. 9, the day after her husband Charlie Sheen was charged with felony menacing and misdemeanor assault for allegedly attacking her on Christmas Day in Aspen.

RadarOnline.com claims that Brooke is battling addiction to crack and alcohol. "Brooke has been in denial about her problem for a long time," a source says.

"Her mother has been attempting to convince her to go into rehab for a while now," the source adds.

Back in January, several outlets suggested Mueller went to rehab after being released from the hospital, although her lawyer denied it.

TMZ says that Mueller's possible struggle with substance abuse could hurt the prosecution's case against Sheen.

Although he allegedly had alcohol in his system on Christmas Day when he attacked his wife, Charlie Sheen reportedly believes he doesn't need rehab, sources say of the troubled actor.

"He is not going to rehab," his rep says.

"He says he doesn't have to go. He drank. But he says he didn't drink that much," a friend of the 'Two and a Half Men' star tells RadarOnline.com.

Sheen's wife, Brooke Mueller, is currently being treated for addiction to crack and alcohol.

The friend says that Sheen had a "sober coach" with him over Christmas to make sure he didn't drink, but he consumed anyway.

"It's no accident that he had a sober coach with him. He had a sober coach with him because he started drinking again and his friends and other people close to him are extremely worried."

Sheen has been charged with felony menacing and misdemeanor assault after the Christmas Day incident.

Sheen takes break from 'Two and a Half Men'
By ANTHONY McCARTNEY, AP Entertainment Writer Wed Feb 24, 6:41 am ET

LOS ANGELES – CBS is temporarily halting production of television's top-rated comedy, "Two and a Half Men," following news from Charlie Sheen's publicist that the actor is in rehab and is taking a break from the show.

Publicist Stan Rosenfield announced Tuesday that Sheen has entered a rehab facility "as a preventative measure." He asked for privacy for Sheen, 44, but did not specify why the embattled actor was seeking treatment.

Sheen's bosses expressed support for the actor in a statement that said they were temporarily stopping production of the show.

"CBS, Warner Bros. Television and (Executive Producer) Chuck Lorre support Charlie Sheen in his decision today to begin voluntary inpatient care at a treatment center," the statement said. "We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter."

The statement offered no timetable for when the show would resume taping.

The decision comes roughly two months after Sheen was arrested after a fight with his wife at his Aspen, Colo., home. Prosecutors later charged the actor with felony menacing and misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and criminal mischief. The most serious charge carries a maximum three-year prison term.

Sheen has not entered a plea and is due back in court on March 15.

Assistant District Attorney Arnold Mordkin said Tuesday he hadn't heard that Sheen had entered rehab and couldn't discuss what bearing it might have on the case.

Sheen's wife, Brooke, is also in rehab seeking treatment for an undisclosed reason, her attorney Yale Galanter said Monday. She is still asking that the charges be dismissed, he said.

Galanter and Rosenfield confirmed Monday that Los Angeles child protective services workers visited the actor and the couple's infant sons over the weekend. Galanter and Rosenfield said it was a routine, previously scheduled visit related to the Aspen court case.

Galanter did not immediately return a phone message Tuesday.

Until Tuesday, Charlie Sheen's legal problems hadn't disrupted taping of "Two and a Half Men," one of CBS' top shows and TV's top-rated comedy.

The show was averaging 14.7 million weekly viewers before Charlie Sheen's arrest. Recent new episodes have drawn nearly 18 million viewers, and 10.6 million people tuned in last week for a rerun, according to ratings released by the Nielsen Co.

"Two and a Half Men," about the romances and family life of two brothers (Sheen and Jon Cryer), is the anchor of CBS' Monday comedy lineup, which also includes "The Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother."

In early January, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler said the network was being sensitive to what it considered a "very personal and private matter for Charlie."

Prosecutor: Agreement reached in Sheen case
2 hrs 3 mins ago

ASPEN, Colo. – Charlie Sheen has reached an agreement with authorities in Colorado over domestic violence allegations involving his wife, a prosecutor said Tuesday.

The agreement was confirmed by Chief Deputy District Attorney Arnold Mordkin, who declined to disclose details.

Brooke Mueller Sheen's lawyer, Yale Galanter, also confirmed a plea agreement but refused to say what the terms were because "a deal is not a deal until the judge approves it."

"There has definitely been a deal reached," said Galanter. "Brooke is totally satisfied with the deal but if she had her druthers, the case would have been dismissed."

Sheen pleaded not guilty to menacing, criminal mischief and assault charges stemming from an argument with his wife on Christmas Day at an Aspen home where they were on vacation. The most serious charge is menacing, a felony that carries a maximum three-year prison sentence.

Sheen's attorney Richard Cummins did not immediately return phone messages seeking comment.

Sheen is scheduled to be in court Monday for a disposition hearing. His trial had been scheduled for July 21.

Cummins had sought to throw out statements that the "Two and a Half Men" actor made to police investigating the case. He argued that an officer questioned Sheen in the basement of a house without advising him of his right to remain silent.

Charlie Sheen denied threatening or hitting his wife but told police that he broke two pairs of her eyeglasses in front of her.

A police officer's arrest affidavit quoted Brooke Sheen as saying the actor pinned her on a bed while holding a knife to her throat and making a threat. In an audio recording of a 911 call, a woman who identifies herself as Brooke tells the dispatcher, "I thought I was gonna die for one hour."

Since the incident occurred at Christmas, both Sheens have completed alcohol rehab programs and Galanter said, "They have been sober for months and months. "

As for the status of the Sheen marriage, Galanter said, "They're working at it."

Police: 2nd Sheen car taken, rolled off LA cliff
Tue Jun 15, 2:03 pm ET

LOS ANGELES – For the second time in five months, a Mercedes-Benz owned by "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen was stolen and sent off Mulholland Drive near his Santa Monica Mountains home, authorities said Tuesday.

Firefighters responding to a report of a traffic accident found the silver Mercedes S600 about 100 feet down a brushy ravine around 3 a.m., Fire Department spokesman Eric Scott said.

Nobody was in the car.

The car showed no signs of forced entry, police Officer Bruce Borihanh said. He could not confirm television reports that the keys were in the ignition. However, the car was running and had its lights on, fire Battalion Chief Peter Benesch said.

Police officers checked the plates of the 2010 vehicle and confirmed it was Sheen's, Officer Norma Eisenman said. Someone apparently took the luxury car from Sheen's Sherman Oaks driveway, where it was parked Monday afternoon and the actor didn't know it was missing, Eisenman said.

Officers impounded the vehicle to fingerprint it, she said.

Sheen publicist Stan Rosenfield did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.

The car was found in the same area off Mulholland Drive where another Mercedes owned by Sheen was found on Feb. 5.

That black, four-door car apparently was stolen from Sheen's garage in a gated community and pushed or driven over the cliff, where it came to rest upside down, police said. Sheen had left the keys inside.

A Bentley was later found off the same road nearby, and police said three other cars reportedly were broken into in the same area.

No arrests have been made.

Archie Kapp, a neighbor of Sheen, told KTLA-TV that he thinks both cars were taken by the same thieves. "When they bring it here, they know the spot. They know exactly where they're going and they say 'Hasta la vista, baby,' and it's gone," Kapp said.

Famed Muholland Drive winds along the top of the Santa Monica Mountains through the tony ridge and canyon neighborhoods overlooking the city.
