I am watching "Unwrapped" on the food network and they are showing ribbon and rock candy being made. Geesh I hated that stuff. They always sent it home with us from school each year. Petite Fours is also yucky and fruitcake. I only tasted one fruit cake that was good but who wants a brick covered with candy?

I do like the chocolate covered anything if it is good quality chocolate.

I'm not one to turn down candy too often, lol. But I did want to say that I *LOVE* ribbon and rock candy. I think it is because my great-grandmother always had some in the house at all times. I was very fond of her, so those candies bring back memories of her for me.

I think it was what my mother did after Christmas with the hard candy. She would mix them with all the left overs like peanuts and party mints she had for Christmas then put it all in the candy dish. Yuck. The peanuts would get stale and get salt on the candy. Just nasty.

My least favorite has to be Egg Nog. OMG, it tastes like medicine to me. My favorite has to be Bourbon Balls, home made of course.

Christmas cookies. Sausage balls. Most kinds of dip. Anything that sits on a drooping paper plate to be eaten with plastic silverware just makes my mouth water. I am a party food beast.

I love buckeyes and try to make some every Christmas. I really don't like fruitcake, but will buy just the small ones for dh.

wow, they look like boobs in that pic. My mom used to make a mean homemade fruit cake. My dh's mom makes a great 6 tiered cocoa nut cake. It is to die for. I am a nurse, and boy you would not believe the stuff that patients families get the nurses every Xmas. I have a neighbor who is near 90, and he makes all the neighbors homemade fudge, and gathers up pecans from around here, and candies them. Sounds like something Paula Deen would make.

I don't like chocolate covered cherries, never had ribbon or rock candy. I hate those danish cookies that come in tins, never had egg nog either. I love gumdrop cake and divinity, love candy canes.

Mmmmmm! Sounds like lots of delicious Christmas cookies & candies.
I love homemade caramels. Never made them myself, but they are delicious.
Make & enjoy lots of cookies. Buckeyes are delicious (think peanut butter cups).
Spritz with butter, sugar cookies, warm ginger bread men, peppermint brownies, and more.

Not so much list: fruitcake

I love that! Every Christmas I buy Stephen's gourmet peppermint hot chocolate. It has chunks of candy canes in it so all you add is water and it's so yummy. I may have to go make some right now

Would be able to share either the fruit cake or the cocoa nut cake recipes? I 'd love to have them.

Hrmmm... I love buckeyes, but my favorite is chocolate covered cherries! I hate eggnog! Never had fruitcake... mom LOVES divinity! My Aunt Sarah made the BEST peanut butter fudge at Christmas... omg I miss that. I like Candy Canes but they can't be peppermint.

But I'm with Cabby, I LOVE party foods! And my Mom makes the BEST Spinach Dip that she serves with Hawaiian Bread!

I love chocolate covered cherries too. My hubby almost always gets me a box but I should not eat them this year---too many calories.

I don't like candy canes---too much to eat at one time. I never thought to stir them in tea though, that would be good.

I like the cherry center kisses and the other flavored kisses. Kisses are just good anyway they are made. The flavored ones come out around the holidays.
