ebay question....?

I haven't shopped on ebay for a LONG time. So I was looking around and found a few things I liked. Anyway I noticed it seemed like ALOT of the same people winning. But my question is do they star out the current winners name? Like 8****8 is the highest bidder. Cause I'm seeing alot of those. etc.

Yes they do, do this. It's so they can keep there purchases private So you don't know who is outbidding you. Say if someone keeps outbidding the same person and that person is getting mad. They won't be able to contact them and write them a not so nice letter or something like that.

No big deal. I just wondered if they (the seller) was having someone up the price by bidding. Because they have several of the same items. Its a store type of thing. And its always a number on the ends. Thought it was strange....
Like I said I haven't shopped at ebay for ages.
