Our news showed at our local BB, they are already camped out as of last night for black friday...What is so good there to cause someone to stand in line for 4 days?
A computer for $150?

I bet it is the laptops and TVs. I went and looked at their ad and the have one laptop normally around 2,000.00 for 600.00 on Black Friday. The TVs I couldn't tell you if they were good prices or not because they don't have the before sale price list on most of them. Video games are a good price lots of the and the same with DVDs 1/2 price.
I wouldn't stand in line for their deals but I guess if you're wanting something bad enough you would stand inline. To me it's nuts to do that.
I did read somewhere that they are handing out tickets for crowd control.

There is a way to make lots of $$$$ from this. Make a huge pot of coffee, another with hot chocolate and another with chicken soup. Go to Costco and buy lots of styrofoam cups with lids.

Now starting at about 11pm....start driving through the parkings lot selling each for a buck or two a cup! :lol Who wouldn't buy it? You'd make a mint by daylight....;)

I worked at the Distribution Center for BB here in Findlay, we also have a store. Last year they had tents set up all around the place and a line all the way to the mall. I HATED "peak" season (holiday sales goes from Nov 16-Jan) we shipped SO much stuff out. I was in E-com (picked and packaged orders) and the things people bought was unreal, they would buy MULTIPLE of the same item, expensive stuff and some were just palin stupid..iPod socks? Man, I don't miss that place at all. I did get a kick a$$ Dyson vaccuum the last year I was there. We all got offered a $599 for WAY cheap. I love that thing LMAO I did have a great discount (5% over cost, but I still get that cause my sweet friend works at the DC :D )

People with way too much time on their hands & not enough $$$ in the checkbook who will wait in line for 72 hours in all types of weather to get a great deal on an item they really don't need that they will end up putting on a credit card & won't have the $$$ to pay for when the bill comes due in January.

Most sane people are too busy working so they can just afford the basics of life.

OK off my soapbox b/c I have way too much work to do. How many more hours until 4 PM?

There's nothing on sale that I would even consider waiting in line for for that long. Considering other stores around it are open today, wouldn't it be considered loitering?

Alot of people buy things on BF and sell them on Ebay and the such.

Also I think some people are just obsessed with getting good deals whether they need them or not. I get that way occasionally if its to good to pass up lol but I always gift them if I dont really need them I would NEVER buy a $150 computer if I didnt need it Im sorry I need my money alot worse then that

I don't do Black Friday and there is NO way I'd stand in line like that to get a "deal" on something!

whatever

If they are standing in line for the tv's that just insane because almost all the stores are running about the same price comparison on them. Just because something sounds like a good deal doesn't mean it is. Like a 50" tv that only 780p is NOT going to be a that good of a picture! But people think the bigger for cheaper price the better. Same with computers.
And I agree people spend now worry about paying for them later. NO not everyone but i'm sure they are plenty. There was a lady on our local news her dh just lost his job and she didnt plan on spending less. Geez I wonder why people go belly up eventually.......

They are after the door busters. A lot of them get the item then head straight for their computers and sell what they have on ebay, a lot of them will sell their tickets to others in line.

No way would I brave that line. The Walmart that we used to have to go to was more or less right across the street from a Best Buy and that Best Buy line would be going around the corner of their building, even when we got what we wanted from Walmart and on our way to another store.

I can't believe that people would already be out today. Someone on this thread said that a laptop was going for $600 that is origninally $1200...well that is a pretty awesome deal. If that is one of the deals, I could see why someone would want to do that. But I would have thought that getting there Thursday afternoon would be in plenty of time.

Pepperpot, I love your idea of selling stuff to those in line....I may just have to try that out some year!

They only have one or just a few? No way. One man was trampled to death last year at a Walmart. Nothing is worth that.

I feel sorry for those who need to work retail on Black Friday. Some stores are opening at 4 A.M. Walmart sale starts at 7 so they need to close and then open the doors.
