Hi guys, my son broke his phone and the screen is all busted on it, we ordered a new screen (not from att) and when placing it on the LCD cracked. Now we are looking for a cheap phone that will fit his sim card from the iphone so he can continue to use a phone while he waits to save up for another one...he isnt even finished paying off this one yet but could not afford insurance on it...so we are stuck with a simcard, new face, no lcd and a contract.....any suggestions? (we already found out a tracphone doesnt fit his sim card.)

thank you for any help.

have you tried the at&t GoPhone? usually those will work...

You can put an iphone sim card into any at&t phone.. The problem though is that you have to let at&t know that you have switched phones or the phone will not work properly b/c the sim card does data. You won't be able to text or anything like that until you let at&t know that the iphone is dead and you switched phones.. It's not a plug and play interface...On top of that if you don't tell them that he switched phones he will be paying for a data package that he cannot use..

I have an old at&t to go phone as well as one of the razorz(it needs a battery tho). If you want I can send you them- you'd just need to paypal me the shipping cost.

It's not old old- it's like 1.5 yrs old.

Also just thought of this..how old is his phone? if it's under a year it should still be covered under warrenty.

The warranty on an iphone isn't as long as other phones. I forget how long but I remember saying "That's it?" when I was told how long it was. Plus at&t doesn't offer insurance on the iphone last I checked or at least in RI.. It's covered under our homeowners though

ETA Apple holds the warranty and it's for 1 year and it's very limited (just looked) He'd have to send it to Apple and not at&t I think....
