What is the best vacation you have ever taken? I have traveled a lot inside the US.
But the best vacation I ever took was a 4 day week end when my daughter flew the two of us, me and her, to NYC to stay with a friend of hers who lived in Manhattan on a very busy street corner above a curb market and a bakery and a florist.
One day I was so tired, they went out and I just laid on her bed and watched out the window for about 3 hours.
It was a one room apartment with a kitchen in a corner and a bathroom. She kept the blinds and window cracked in the bathroom and from the toilet you could see people walking on the street. She kept it that way. No I couldn't go that way , I had to shut it.
We walked to Time Square, went across the street into Central Park, and visited Sephora, I had never seen one and we went to Elizabethtown on a bus to my first IKEA. We crammed a lot into those short days but it was wonderful.
It was not like going as a tourist. She took us shopping to all these fantastic little shops. We saw 2 plays, went into a porn shop, ate at the counter of the restaurant where she ate breakfast everyday, went to a fancy restaurant with only 6 tables. And I learned how to hail a taxi.
This was a spur of the moment trip because the airlines had a ticket special on unsold seats. My daughter goes to NYC a lot so she knew the ropes.
Such fun. Any others had some great adventures?
