View Full Version : reusable grocery totes.......In case anyone needs to know

It was on the news last night to wash them because people apparently aren't and are getting sick. They were saying you should designate certain totes (colors) for certain food products like meats, breads etc.
It says there should be directions inside the totes on how to wash but if not more than likely wash and air dry. Also they cooler totes ( alum. style) to soak in bleach water and air dry.........

That never occured to me unless visibly soiled.
Often the 'solution' to one 'problem, creates another.

Good info! I have separate totes for different items and I have the insulated totes for just meats. I also usually wash them every other week or at least spray them down with Clorox spray. But I am kind of freaky like that. I even have a separate fridge for just meats (and beer). LOL

I have always used plastic bags ((unreuseable )) for meat because of contamination

I'm so freaky about spills and such in my kitchen yet I reuse those stupid bags all the time and never thought about it. Thanks for giving me something new to obsess over. Back in a bit, gotta go wash bags. lol
