I went to the grocery store yesterday to get some things and i picked up a loaf of bread because i was going to make bacon egg and cheese sandwiches today....i go to make the toast for the sandwiches and in the UNOPENED loaf of bread are these little gnats/flies...not sure which nor does it really matter as both are GROSS! Now I'm sitting here grossed out and debating on going back to the same store to take the bread back, or if i should just throw it out and run to the corner store and get bread there.

If anyone reading this is in pittsburgh- check giant eagle's bread before you buy it as that's the brand it was!

Take it back for a refund. They should really pull the rest of the bread off the shelves.

I have a friend who grew up in the Hazelwood section.. Is that close to where you are? I cannot remember where she bought her house but it's on the east side of Pittsburgh

I'm in the west end and the bread was purchased at the Kennedy Giant Eagle.

there is nothing wrong with the store or the bread; it just happened to be that particular loaf. Go back to the store, get another. They are attracted to the yeast in the bread.

I too would return it and ask for my money back...

Wehave issues here from time to time with 'bugs' in stuff..it happens...We get "Millers" in dry dog food, dry pasta..Little wevilles in flour, cake mixes ect... Like others said the yeast will draw the bugs..

I would take it back too the next time I went to that store unless it was close-by, why waste the gas for a $2 loaf of bread? However I would have called the store right away.
