http://www.kcci.com/video/20537816/index.html

This came as such a blow to us! There is a full blown investigation as Adam would NEVER get drunk behind the wheel and drive. Nor did he EVER drive his mustang on gravel. So to us there are SOOO many unanswered questions.
Yesterday we walked the bean field looking for Adams phone because it was not on him. We found sooo much debris from the car we figure that car was going at top speed when it went into the ditch first. But I was NOT prepared to see the photo of the car EVEN knowing all the pieces we had picked up. We did find a watch but it was Toms. My heart is so broken. Adam was like my little brother. Actually he (we found out years ago) he is my 3rd cousin. He lived here in town with his mom till he was 20 and then of course moved out and in with room mates. He had just bought a house this summer. He was only 27 years old.
this is one of the MANY reasons I hate when people get behind the wheel after DRINKING!!!

I am so sorry. Its unbelieveable that anyone survived that crash, that doesn't even look like a car anymore. Did you know Tom? I'm sure they will find out which one was driving but either way Adam is gone and I am so sorry. :hug

Yes. He graduated with Adam. I haven't seen him in years. We TRULY believe he was driving the car. They are taking DNA off the air bags etc. to see who was driving etc. We know he (tom) either passed out or waited to call for help. Because it was hours AFTER the bars closed. No ONE was contacted till 6:30 the next morning and they shut down a bar at 3 just 4 miles from their location.
Tom wandered to some Semi's nearby and was sitting in there and called his Gf for help. They had to us GPS from his phone to find them.

Picking up all the cars parts, I'm talking break calipers broke in HALF, parts of rims etc. (and Adam bought the best) we knew it would be bad, But nothing prepared me for the pix of that car.
We even found Toms watch out there. but we can't find Adams phone. :(
The crash site is horrific. We figure the car flipped end over end 3-4 times easliy.

I am so very sorry. Since I saw the video, there was a bud light case in the car.. maybe they were driving the back country roads having a few?? Either way, its a terrible tragedy and I am so very sorry for your loss

We don't know what they were doing there. Its about 1/4 mile on gravel. Adam NEVER drove that car on gravel. Its being said they missed their stop sign and then veered off the road etc.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I hope it turns out he wasn't driving, but even if that's true it would mean he still got in the car. I grieve for both families. Drinking and driving brings so much tragedy to so many.

I know and that puzzles us also. He has a friend that almost killed his GF about 4 years ago. Broke her back from drinking/driving. He was furious with him about it. So NONE of this makes any sense to us! So many unanswered questions......

Oh my God. I am so sorry. That was such a horrible wreck. I cant imagine the pain that you and your family are in. He was so young. My heart aches for you and your family. It is truly amazing that anyone did walk away from that wreck.

Big hugs to you! Wish there was something more I could say or do.

Turns out he did have his phone on him. the funeral director was mistaken. Its toms phone that did NOT. And the sheriff has it. Its not clear why he has not taken it to him?
But we are not sure on Adams watch.....
I had dreams of him last night. So not looking forward to the viewing at all.
:(
I think it will make it seem real then. Right now its kinda of surreal....

Thank you everyone. It was a VERY large visitation and funeral as we knew it would be. He was a VERY likeable full of life guy......:)
It Was so surreal and hard at the same time. His mom asked us to put messages on his cell phone and she put it in his pocket just like he always had it. I thought that was a very cool idea.
We put a pix of ourselves with "ruby" in there. He had not gotten to see her with the tires and wheels. Ironically I was going to call him sunday (last sunday) and send him pix....:(
