My dh and I built a half whiskey barrel downspout pond in our yard last weekend and today we bough 4 goldfish to eat the bugs and mosquito larvae

I named the goldfish b/c of course I name everything. :)

Their names are Tupac, Snoop, Dr. Dre and Biggie.

Nobody in this house likes the names..

Too effin bad I do :D

Now what's wrong with those names? My one bird like to listen to California Love, he just bob's his head. Maybe your goldfish fins will get into the beat too. LOL!

See now I told my dh when we quit putting fish in our pond that now we get mos. lavae. Of course he didn't believe me that, that is why. So instead of getting fish I have to buy a drop in. Not nearly as pretty. But it is easy to maintain....
good luck with the fish. I liked having them. But when they get big (well ours did because our pond is big) its more of a headache for the aquarium.

I'll post pics when my ds decides he is done w/my pc. Lol
dh was asking me which one was which so he has given up on trying some type of intervention :) I can tell them apart from their spots on their heads

We just had our house painted that color... The thing used to be white.

Tupac is the lower fish , Dre is on the right and the pic is too fuzzy to tell which one Biggie and which one is Snoop

We are also getting a Gargoyle downspout cover when they are back in stock in August to feed into the barrel

I like it, I miss my koi pond we had in TN.

lmao,I was thinking the same thing.Biggie vs snoop=huge difference.

I had a koi pond for a short while myself,it was so cool.

Koi are a type of carp.. A lot of people make larger ponds than we built and put koi in them.. They are really pretty fish

Ours was in-ground w/pump, waterfall etc but they got so big it was a bytch when we had to bring them inside in the winter.

Pretty cool, we have 2 koi ponds in the backyard, DH put them in a few years ago one in the summer and one in between Christmas and New Years when he was bored. He had to always be working on a project, we don't have many skeeters but the ponds do attract all kinds of creatures-frogs, birds, and unwanted possum and raccoons even though we live in the city.
BTW, I like the names, it sures beats goldie. LOL

We just went to a really nice pond supply place and bought the gangsta goldfish some floating heart and hyacinth.. The goldfish are having fun with the plants. Well I think they are heh. and hopefully it will hide them from predators n such.. I could have bought sooooo much stuff tat that place.. lol

We also bought a chickadee house.
