Two days ago I was ready to hurt someone because I couldn't get an answer and we had no clue when we would be moving. All that has changed. The movers are coming out to pack us up from the 6th - 9th and we fly out on the 11th!!!!

The 1st movers got the contract which is exactly what we wanted. They are wonderful. They scheduled us right away. The woman even apologized that she couldn't get us scheduled for next week. That's fine by me really. I still have a ton of work to do and the more organized I can be the easier a job it will be for the movers. After all our stuff is shipped out we'll stay with my parents and they will take us to the airport. I'm just sooooo excited!

DH called at 7am today to get our names from our passports. He had to make sure they were exactly right. While we were on the phone a woman in the HR department there booked our flight.

Now I just need some prayers/vibes/well wishes/good karma that the move goes smoothly, they can take DH's mead, and something gets resolved with DH's car.

I pray the move goes smoothly and the flight goes quickly. I just can't imagine how excited you and your family must be. Thankly Germany has internet also and you can still be "here" with us. I am glad that your family has this huge opportunity. How wonderful!

Thanks everyone!

We got the car sold! :happy The people who are going to be renting our house are going to buy it. So that's one more worry down. Hopefully life will start to normalize once we get to Germany (even though as of right now we're going to be sleeping on air mattresses for 6 weeks or so.) :lol I don't care. I'll have my hubby back again. We will have a dining table as I found one online on a Craigslist type site for the Air Base community. It was a table with fold down wings (so it will be perfect for a kitchen table later) with 4 chairs for $10. Nothing fancy but it's functional.

Which Air base will you be stationed at? I spent a wonderful, long year in Germany almost 20 years ago when Dh was in the Army. We were stationed at Baumholder and used to drive to Ramstein Air base often.

We're not military. DH has a civilian job with a technology company over there. He's a network engineer/administrator. He does work on Ramstein Air Base though and that's where the kids will go to school. We found a nice house off base in Miesenbach that we will be renting. It's a 3 story triplex and we're the middle unit. That's fine by me. Still won't have people walking around above us like I remember and hated from apartment living days but we will be more insulated in winter so our heating bills should be lower.

The castle about 10 miles from us. I think it was built around 1450.

The living room (there's a fireplace in there somewhere), the wntergarden beyond the curtains (glassed in patio type room), the patio beyond that, and the yard. It's a small yard but that just means less I have to mow.

The furniture belongs to the current tenanats. We're bringing our own.
