My friend and I were at a Goodwill this morning, waiting to pay for our stuff, when this guy starts banging a cash register around. At first I thought he was pissed off because he wasnt being waited on, then I thought he was robbing the register. He knocks the register to the floor then goes after the register of the line I was waiting at. He knocks that one to the floor too. I ran down the aisle and watched as this other guy runs up and says "He's my client!!!!!" I guess the guy being beligerent was mentally ill or had serious behavior issues. All the time the guy's face showed no expression at all, which freaked me out even more. My friend had ran out of the store with her merchandise, she was so scared she forgot she had unpaid merchandise. (She tossed the stuff back right away) The caseworker got the beligerent guy outside in his car in the back seat but the guy would not calm down.

Meanwhile I paid for myself and went out into the parking lot. The cops arrive, four cop cars and they surround the car. I get in my van and the car with the crazy guy is near me about two cars away. One of the cops drew her gun! Now I am really freaked because bullets don't have eyes and I hope there isnt any shooting. Well I acted like a library and BOOKED got my happy a$$ out of there.

That was my excitement for the day

Wow! I would have freaked out too! Glad everyone was ok, and hopefully they got that guy calmed down. I was at the dollar store the other day, and there 2 guys in there, one obviously had downs syndrome. He was starting to throw a fit and he was a big guy. The other was his brother I think and was trying to calm him down, asking if he wanted coloring books , etc. He finally got him to leave the store...

Sounds like yours was a bit more worked up, hope the cops didnt have to shoot.

I would have left also. You just never know. Glad you got out safely. Just think of how many years you and your friend will tell this story...lol.

That would have scared the crap out of me.
Did you ever hear if the guy was OK?

The cops up in Toledo shot a guy like this a couple years ago. He was cuffed and in the backseat of the cop car when they shot him.

I worked at a state hospital for many years and had to take patients into town many times, to stores or clinics or hospitals. I always prayed I didn't have any freak out on me. ONe guy did away from our group and was found sniffing model glue. ANd another gal spazed out in the ER and was trying to get water out of the handwashing sink faucet, even though she coudn't have anything to drink cuz she was getting blood drawn. I tried pulling her off and for being half my size, she wasn't budging and ended up pulling the damn faucet outta the sink and spraying water all over the ER. After that they believed me when I said she needed to be restrained. ugh.
