W arrived in Troy Friday afternoon & hubby & I visited with the sis with whom we were staying and another sis joined us for dinner. On Saturday my oldest granddaughter graduated from high school. Afterward we all (my son, his daughter (the graduate), his step-daughter & her boyfriend, my daughter, her hubby, daughter, my son, his wife, baby, 2 sisters, gathered at my daughter's for dinner where I finally met my 2 month granddaughter, Isabelle. What a precious baby!!!!! (I couldn't get enough of her over the whole weekend and she didn't mind getting all the attention either.)

On Sunday several of us went to my almost 5 yr old granddaughter's dance recital. Wow! Great talent and a lot of fun. And to make a long story short, I celebrated a surprise birthday with all of the above folks on Sunday afternoon. It was one of the best weekends ever and I made sure a lot of pics were taken because this was only the second time in 14 years that my kids have all been together at one time and the first time with their children.

I think I have the best family ever!! Great fun! Great folks! Great food! (and the gifts weren't too shabby either! ;) )

I told my neighbor that I'd had a birthday over the weekend and he said, "38, huh?" So maybe I'll stick with that. LOL!

that's really great everyone could get together at once, that is special, and hope you all can do it all soon, or maybe even yearly.....

Suuuure....didya get me a birthday gift, daughter? ;)

But, seriously....in my travels online I have mett several women young enough to be my daughters whose mothers could have cared less about them or their children. I could never figure that out. Life is so precious and when it's your own kids, doubly so. And I never grew up with a huge sense of family or anything. This came only in the last several years. (but I always cared about my kids!!)
