Just got back from Walmart, I had 8 vitamin water coupons B1G1F and they had to ring each of them separate, so I had to pay 15 cents tax on each of them, this is bull. Said they had to start doing this. Why, one coupon per transaction.

I've had to do that before when the coupon says one per transaction. I've always had to pay tax on the items, unless it's food. The thing that drives me nuts is sometimes the cashier acts like it's the end of the world that she/he had to ring them up in different transactions.

that is always how I have had to do it, from day one. one coupon per transaction. I guess you had it lucky before. Even during my popcorn and electrasol days I had to have it seperate lol.

The coupons state 1 per transaction - don't understand why you are upset. I would be happy to pay only 15 cents per bottle.

I'm confused too..here we have always had to pay the tax on the item..BYW what is your tax rate where you live?? Did you pay a total of 30 cents for the two bottles or 15 cents for two bottles.... Because here the 15 cents for the two would about right...
Like 1.00 per bottle x's 2 = 2.00 + tax .14 - 1.00 (coupon) = 1.14 for two bottles.

Yes, I paid 1.15 for 2 bottles, I know that is still cheap alot of the stores carry the water for 1.39, one of the reasons I was using all my coupons so I could still get it for 1.00. It is just the thought of if I had had a bunch of the same stuff with coupons it would of took forever, I had a bunch of the water coupons the other day and the cashier rang everything up together. I just don't get what the deal is, why can't they just ring everything up together walmart coupon policy says one coupon per item

You would have payed the tax on each one either way but I too hate the 'one per transaction' crap. It happend to me at CVS today.

Because, it is actually one per item in the total transaction. Avid couponers know this. Idiot cashiers dont like to be told they are wrong.

it isn't that way always as I stated above.... as a matter of fact... it isn't that way at all for me for howwwwwww many years... so not all AVID couponers know this... I guess some couponers are lucky and I have tried trust me... but I have used them and walked out of the store and walked back in or had a cashier let me re ring the coupons in a different transaction.... or just used one... I can't say I have NEVER not used more then one in my many years.... but 99.9% of the time I haven't been able to use 2 or more of the same frees in the same transactions.

It depends on what the coupon says. If it says "one coupon per transaction," then that is what they have to do. Some cashiers read the coupons, some don't.
