I had ( i have just changed docs) the worst quack i have ever seen. I have low blood pressure she decided i had high blood pressure gave me pills made me sick. when i called her she said and i quote "oops" i have now been sick for 3 weeks she hands me a scrip for antibiotics without even a blood test ( i have stomach prolems) She never faxed in paperwork she was suposed to for my fmla leave ( thank heavens the insurance company told my job I did everything right it was the doctor that was wrong) The hospital i use and the insurance company had me file a formal complaint. I am looking so forward to going to a real doc on friday and find out what the heck i have.

I would go to her office and she would ask me what i wanted prescribed and what tests i wanted... hmmmmmm she is the doc i am the patient right? I went there because I don't know WHAT is wrong with me. geesh.

She needs a doc herself. Probably on drugs of some kind. Hope she gets her license taken away before she kills someone.

Good for you. I hope everything works out for you for the best. I finally found a dr. around 10 years ago that I trust after a car wreck. Every dr. I kept seeing said pain, symptoms were all in my head or just live that way. I couldn't there's no way.

After 2 visits with my current dr. he sent me to a spine specialist who diagnosed the problem within 1 hour of tests he ran. I am forever thankful that I listened to my own instincts and went elsewhere.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

oh wow, that is awful you had to go through that. I'm glad you are filing a complaint against her, I hope others have not died b/c of her careless ways. Good luck with your dr. on Friday, I hope they can give you some answers and you can get the care you deserve.

Sounds like we had the same quack. My doc gave me high bp pills and I have low bp. I told her she was out of her damn mind.

That type of "Dr." gives the medical profession a bad name. Glad that you did file a complaint. Have you checked her medical license info with your state license board for other complaints? Hope they find out what is wrong on Friday.

Sorry you've had to go through that but I'm glad you filed a complaint. I hope your new doctor is much better.

I've been lucky and have had really good doctors for the kids and myself. There have been 1 or 2 specialists that I would've liked to knock some sense into (one told me to give my son Tylenol for the pain he was in, even though in big huge letters on his chart it says he can't have Tylenol and he prescribed propranolol but he ordered 3 tbsp twice a day which is way too much) but my son's regular doctor has always been great in finding a different specialist (since he does the referring).

Power to you... most Doc's think they are untouchable, bad thing is, most are.

Some of the doctors are in too big of a hurry to notice anything.

so glad you are filing a complaint because I think too many times ppl just let it go. I don't have a large family and already we have had two bad drs this year.....thanx to them Steve's AML was in advanced stages when found and we just buried my mom Saturday. I will never again go to a dr.

Wow! I didn't realize you had a medical degree! Seriously, good job for reporting her and I hope you finally find out what is wrong with you.

It will only get worse if we get Universal Health Care. Docs won't care how they treat you they just need to get to the next patient.

the way I see them 90% are already like that.........I am thankful that my kids have an amazing dr but as for me after almost losing my husband and losing my mom in the past 3 months I personally will never go to the dr again. I would rather die on my own rather than giving them the chance to kill me.

Sounds like the quacks they have in the town next to us. I have gone to both of them and they are clueless!! You pretty much self diagnose yourself. Or they tell you, you need to relax and to do some yoga or something. I mean they are strange birds.

My doc is part of the remaining 10%. When I first started seeing her about 6-7 years ago, she let me know she didn't know everything and that if there was something she didn't know the answer to, she would refer me to a specialist and she has been true to her word. And she made a note in my file that whenever I come to see her, she wants to see me for at least a half hour instead of the regular 15 minutes. If I don't need that long, fine but I usually do. She even gave me her home phone number!

I don't always agree with her but I respect her opinion and she respects mine. I was seeing a doc down south many years ago, talking about my migraines. (In my opinion the very best diagnostic tool that a doctor has is the patient himself) I was telling the doc how I felt and what was going on, etc. and he said to me, "who's the doctor here, you or me?" That was the last time I saw him. If a doctor said that to me today, watch out! I feel a doctor has to earn my respect, just like anyone else.

I wish you the best of luck in this, skyrider and I wish you the best of health!

Hope you get this all sorted out. When my MIL was 39 she was very sick....she kept going to the Dr.....The doctor actually told her, " Good god, you have a touch of pneumonia, its not like your are going to die or anything!"

A couple days later MIL was rushed to the hospital...she had at least two massive heart attacks....and needed an immediate quadruple bypass. The hospital said within an hour she would have died.

I wish she had sued that Doctors ass off!

Normally I am not sue happy, but she had gone to see the doc several times and the doctor did nothing for her!

well I went to see my new doc. What a nice guy explained things so well, gave me all kinds of tests and i can actually go online and see my own test results. I know what is abnormal now and can have a general idea what is wrong. It also gives me a chance to email my doc so i don't have to call and leave a message and wait etc, The docs read their email whenever they get a chance all day even got an answer from him on a sunday night:) I feel like I have a real doc again
