Okay so my brother calls me this morning and asks me how to defrag his computer. Of course he's at work so why he's calling when he's not in front of puter I don't know. lol
Anyway a few months ago his anti virus exp. and he asked me what I used I told him the FREE avg. So today he calls and said he "bought" avg and he has tons of viruses on his computer and some techie for avg said it would cost him $500 plus to fix it. I was like WTF?? So here is my question do you think he accidently got a mimick AVG? I know people clicked on a AVG upgrade thing that was NOT affiliated with the REAL avg. So the way he keeps explaining things it doesn't sound right.
Plus he paid for spyware thru them. Again I said he was crazy when you can get all this stuff for free! He claims to be an "expert" but apparently not. lol
So does anyone know a good site to "clean" his computer now?

Actually if he got it for a business computer you are suppose to pay for AVG and it comes with I think 5 licenses. So if he downloaded the right one yes he had to pay for it and yes they will charge you if there are that many viruses and stuff to go through. It would probably be cheaper to have a IT person reformat the computer and start over and install the AVG from the beginning.

if your wanting to defrag, that's easy. Just go to your maintance part on your computer, or go to search and type in the word defrag and it should come up.

Thanks, that I know. I am wondering if his computer got a "mimicked" antivirus on it. Because thats what he is describing to me.

Ok I know exactly what happened. There was a virus that my bosses wife turned loose on my work computer - she got the damn thing from Facebook. The only way I could get rid of it was to do a system restore to a earlier date and thankfully it worked. It was a pain - it would keep popping up notes that you needed to activate stuff constantly - I mean constantly.
