I can't believe how they didn't treat those men that had syphilus. They wanted to see if they had the same reactions to the disease that white people had when they were studying them in the late 1800's and early 1900's.
But back then they didn't have any treatments for it. They did when they did what they did to the men in Tuscegee. And after all they went through the government never apologized till Clinton did. I think they gave them or their families between 15,000 and 35,000 dollars. It was horrible how they let them suffer when penicillin would have saved them. It scares me to think our government could do something like that without their conscience bothering them at all.
