Hi everyone, next saturday my family is having a surprise birthday party for my grandmother, she will be 90. I have NO idea what to get her besides good old hard cash. i dont mind giving her money, which i usually do for christmas, and her other birthdays, etc. but i would like to give it to her in a creative way... She loves to gamble, she goes to the casino about once a month (its about a 3 hour drive so they just spend the nite) she drinks and smokes, which is beside the point... anyway, i was thinking of some kind of container, or bank to put her "fun" money in.

any ideas are greatly appreciated !! :)

you could maybe get her a gift card for the casino that she likes to go to or a piggy bank of sorts or how about a slot machine bank

When my sister and I were going to Vegas for my birthday, she bought me a beaded slot machine change purse and stuffed it full of coins and a few tokens. It's similar to this one.

I love the slot machine purse idea, but if not that, how about something like gift cards for restaurants to use on the night out, or even for gas to go?

My mil LOVES LOVES LOVES flowers and she will be 91 this year. I give her flowers every single year. Nice flowers, nice arrangement. Of course, she lives hours away (in UP) and so I'm not with her on her day. But at her age, she doesn't need a thing so sending her jewelry or clothes of knick-knacks is wasteful.

I also like the gambling tokens. She'd like and appreciate that. How about you go with her? Two gifts in one.

Does she play bingo too? One year for Dh's g-ma I got a small canvas tote from llbean and packed with daubers, snacks, a good luck charm and some scratch tickets to do during intermission.

Use fabric paint to decorate the bag-bingo style. LOL

I would be more than happy to send her one of our Mega Millions lottery ticket. Maybe you can have people here from different states all send her one. Then you could give her something like that little purse thingie and put them all in it.
