I had a really great friend, our kids were close too. we got in a stupid (well, NOW it seems stupid) argument 8 years ago and only spoke a couple more times. I tried finding her about 5 yrs ago with no luck, so I let it go thinking she wouldnt want to see me anyway. I started thinking about her again last week. tried finding her but couldn't. well I found one of her daughters on myspace. Then I found out that my friend died 6 months ago. I'm so sad for all the lost time. I could have been there for her and the kids. I should have tried harder, I miss her so much. don't let stupid things ruin a friendship, you never know if you can overcome it and reconnect.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know what you mean things meant a lot when it happened....seem so trivial now.

I'm sure there were no hard feelings in the end. :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug

That is so true. What a great reminder that we should not be too quick to toss a friendship. So sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry, and you are very right.
Its weird how in the heat of a argument things get said, and everyone things well, theres tomorrow, or next week, etc. We arent guaranteed a tomorrow so keep your friends and loved ones close

You wasn't there for her but maybe you can still be there for her kids. Maybe send letters about her and things you did together. Or if you have old pictures you could send them. Sorry about your loss. This reminds me of this poem.

YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW....
There are two days in every week
about which we should not worry,
Two days which should be kept free of fear and apprehension.

One of these days is YESTERDAY,
With its mistakes and cares,
Its faults and blunders,
Its aches and pains.
YESTERDAY has passed forever beyond our control.

All the money in the world cannot bring back YESTERDAY.
We cannot undo a single act we performed;
We cannot erase a single word we said.
YESTERDAY is gone.

The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW
With its possible adversities, its burdens, its larger promise.
TOMORROW is also beyond our immediate control.

TOMORROW, the sun will rise,
Either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds,
But it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in TOMORROW
For it is as yet unborn.

This leaves only one day - TODAY.
Any man can fight the battles of just one day.
It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities
- YESTERDAY and TOMORROW -
That we break down.

It is not the experience of TODAY that drives men mad.
It is remorse or bitterness for something which happened YESTERDAY
And the dread of what TOMORROW may bring.

Let us, therefore, live but ONE day at a time.
