anyone know of how I can find if son and his friends down loaded porn onto my computer and how to clean it out...

The boy and some friends were here tonight alone as I was at work until 7:30pm and my dot sprained her wrist today slipping on ice so my wife had to leave abruptly to take her to express care as our pediatrician was closed at the time ...

Wife in worry forgot to tell the kids to leave...and lock the computer....and or take the keyboard.

I have done virus searches and disk defragment and the clean ups I know to do. But just want to be sure I do all possible since computer is running much slower than normal

Did they erase the history? Did you check your recent downloads or documents because those will show up in the menu as well as your HD.

From what I have heard,If someone downloaded porn you would be getting obvious pop-ups.Maybe that is not always the case,I really don't know,but I think you would be getting nasty porn pop-ups.

It found some files I was unaware of but it won't erase unless I buy...

No pop ups...my blockers don't even show much as if they do show some it is very rare...

Even if they throw away the file, it would still show up in your recently download files or documents. :)

We use tracks eraser. It will clean the system but it will also give you a list of what it is getting rid of if you hit details. Hubby repairs and works on peoples computers. People try to make him a liar when he tells them porn was on their computer and that is what was messing it up. So we save the details list now to prove to them what was on there.

daughter is doing ok...sore but ok.

We will be going to see the pediatrician on Tuesday afternoon for a follow-up.

It could be possible it's not porn but some type of mal-ware that you can get simply by going on certain sites. I use Spybot search and destroy with the tea timer... You can see a log of what was allowed to be downloaded or saved in your registry and all that jazz. Porn is not the only thing that can screw up your pc speed

And the porn isn't even what screws it. I have porn on here, but I know where to D/L it so I don't get nasty malware-adware-viruses etc. It's the things they have on the site where you go to get it sometimes that frak up your PC, not the porn itself.

And I use Spybot w/tea timer also. Plus i have Norton's Internet Security suite and it doesn't let much by.

C-cleaner is a great program for computer cleanup.

You probably pick up more malware from ads on forums and other general internet usage on a daily basis than you picked up from wherever the kids went on the computer in one evening.

I'll ask hubby and see where he got it. What website he got it from.
It doesnt erase the harddrive. It just erases all your internet history, cookies, etc. Reformat is the way to erase a harddrive
