O wow, doesn't seem really worth it. I haven't sent anything in awhile so I wasn't aware of that.

They raised the prices a couple of weeks ago on those. They will be increasing first class postage in May. They should have an announcement about the amount it will go up in March.

Still cheaper than UPS. I sent a 1lb box across the country UPS, it took 7 days and cost me $16! A 8lb flat rate through the Post office got there in 3 days and cheaper. I'm done with UPS!

I know. I had a bunch of auctions going on Ebay and I always offer flat rate for 9.30 which is what it costes me thru paypal but it was 9.85 so I lost a bit.
Try paying that, then having your coach purse delivered to someone an hour away. Now, I'm jumping through hoops to get my money or my package and all the extras that are bought to protect...aren't working. UGH I hate the postal service.

That is why I always use UPS. I do get to cheat a little though since I send them from work using our work account. Boss doesn't care I just pay the invoice when it comes in.
I got lucky. My postmaster hand delivered it tonight. Stupid Edmond Post Office was wanting to keep it I guess. The ebay seller was great though. :)

They could stop Saturday deliveries to businesses and it shouldn't be a problem as most businesses are closed on weekends anyway. As for residential - why don't they cut some of their costs and overhead like taking 200 paid holidays a year. If they cut Saturday delivery are they going to reduce the number of employees and supervisors? Probably not quasi government they don't have to reduce anything they just up the rates and cut services it's the American way.

Seriously doubt this will happen any time soon. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/01/29/AR2009012903745.html?hpid=sec-politics

I heard they were going to cut the "slow" day, which apparently is Tuesday

But are they going to reduce the workforce by 1/6th? Since that is the amount of work being reduced. I seriously doubt it but I can guarantee the price of stamps and their benefit packages will go up.
