I am going to get a new Dell computer. I have XP and love it, but I'm sure all the new ones have Vista. Anybody...what do you like best.

I like them both. I have XP Pro Corp on my main partition and Vista on the other one. Vista is prettier, lol!

Each have their benefits. Several programs I use are not compatible with Vista so I have a desktop with XP and one with Vista. Both of our laptops are Vista.

Vista is crap.. Totally useless crap.

VISTA has it's good points... but, even my new 'puter, I chose XP. I have printer, and scanner that won't work with VISTA, including some other programs.
There is a new windows coming out soon... called "Windows 7", I heard that microsoft has 'shut the door on VISTA', and, opened "Windows 7" - they just haven't been able to sell the public on VISTA.

Actually Windows 7 is an upgrade to Vista they are just trying to sell it as a new Windows cause Vista bombed out. (My Uncle works for Microsoft so I asked him what it was cause I HATE Vista).

Well, yea, that's about right, it's for 'people who hate VISTA'...lol

Living on Windows 7: Can It Bring Back the Windows 95 Glory Days?

TechNewsWorld columnist Rob Enderle has put the beta version of Windows 7 through its paces, and he's pleased with what he sees so far. With Microsoft in the condition it's in, thanks in part to the Vista disaster, it needs a successful launch like the one it had with Windows 95.
Windows 7 feels like what Vista should have been. It is slick, fast, doesn't drive you nuts with warnings (though it still has some) and much more intuitive. It is particularly handy when you, like I often do, run multiple monitors and have a tendency to open lots of windows.
Might really be worth looking into.

I love the fact that with Vista, if you need drivers for hardware, it automatically takes care of it for you. You dont have to hunt and peck for every little last one when you dump and redo your computer. With Windows OP of the past I have always had check marks in some of my hardware that I couldnt find drivers for, I have never had that problem with Vista.

With Dell you can get it with XP or Vista you have to call and place the order to get XP. I just ordered a new laptop for one of our techs last week at got XP on it. It can be Pro or Home version. You can get them to install XP on it and send the disks for Vista with the computer.

We still use XP. We have had some problems with vista on computers that we have worked on for other people.

I am going to order direct from Dell so I am going to ask if I can get it with XP. I just use mine for pleasure. Thank you for all the replies. :)
