I grew up eating these... anyone else ever have this.
My husband thinks my family is crazy.
my mom always cooked green beans with onion and bacon, when the beans were done she would put a little butter and some milk on them. MMMMMMMM!
Everyone says it is good, right up until the milk part....lol!

I have to agree with your DH. It does sound good up until the milk. That said, you use milk as an ingredient in green bean casserole so who knows, I'd have to try it.

Ok add me to the nuts person and my DH thought I was nuts till he took a bite. They have to be garden fresh and a nice warm milk. I also will do this with peas YUMMY !!! My mom taught me this.

Thanks! I'm not entirely crazy, or at least not crazy by myself.
Never tried milk with peas though, but I will now.

Me three .. I think it's weird, but who am I to say. Kind of reminds me of the green bean casserole so big during the holidays. Is it anything like that?

I've had it that way and it is really good...I dont personally make it because I love my green beans with melted cheese better.

I really hate green bean casserole, and I think my mom made it every chance she got this year. Blech. I love plain old green beans cooked up with some fatback (hey, I am of the grits)

I love fresh green beans fried in butter, no bacon, no onions, but the beans have to be somewhat burnt. I can honestly make a meal just out of them. That is one thing that is a "for sure" that gets planted in my garden. Oh, I have to add quite a bit of black pepper to the beans, no salt. Great it is 11:50 AM, time to start making some lunch and now I find myself drooling for fried green beans. :eating:
