What was the best thing that happened to you or your family in 2008?

For me, I have a few.

I got some really killer deals! (Thanks everyone) I have enough shampoo, and paper products for the next year if not 10. I already have Christmas presents for 2009.

I was able to travel twice to MI, to meet a wonderful person! Who is now family! (atprm):dancing:

I have made some wonderful friends here! (Thank you!) When times were going bad I was happy to say you all were here for me! :dancing:

Dh and I still have jobs, and gas in our cars. Even though we worried about both things! My dd has straight a's and my ds loves his new school.

I may not have a million dollars or the ups package everyday, but thats ok. There is always next year, right.....

I think the best part of the year was that all 3 of my adult Sons are doing good. All are healthy, fairly happy, all are working and we didn't have to loan or help any of them financially! That in itself is a shocker..lol

I have the BEST husband on earth and we both have been able to travel (Mexico 3 times this past year) and continue to work and prosper. He adores me and I love him so much.

Even though I would l would love to sell it (cross your fingers we have an offer) our mobile home park is full and profitable and we actually have pretty decent tenants! Thats been a lot less stress.

Oh WAIT!!!!!! The best part is I lost almost 50 lbs and I FEEL great!!!!!!!!!

My hubby got back into the job he left several years ago and is happier than ever in his work life.

I went back to school.

My kids are healthy and properly diagnosed.

I found out that even tho my family isn't there for me I have friends I've never met face to face that I know I can turn to, even if just for a b%$&hfest.

for us, we were blessed with an extension of long-lost-family and a couple who are fun to be with (beso/E).

for us, also, we commenced communications with my relatives in Poland -- something that we otherwise could not have accomplished if it were not for my cousin STILL being able to speak Russian (she talks to dh who translates into English).

Being able to get into Culinary School , my wonderful supportive husband who loves me to death. My brothers wedding, getting to see some of my German relatives that I hadn't seen in years, having family and friends that care and support me and my health.

Sheila, I would love to go to culinary school, if nothing else, just to learn how to chop like a mad fiend, like they do on top chef.

Meeting such wonderful friends on here has been a great experience you all helped me out so much to get through some tough times when my daughter got hurt and there is no way to thank you enough! Our buisness is still doing well and as for my family we are all happy and healthy "couldnt ask for more"

Best thing...I decided to do something for myself in planning a trip to Vegas with a high school pal. It was the bomb, planning for it all.

I am the mother of a motocross racer, so that is where my focus and money goes...well, after I had my trip planned...I got to choose the date, which, I chose a date that was the pro moto event of the year.

Well, my son was invited to the big show for amatures that weekend. So, despite my plan, he was singled out as one of the best in the world. So, we spent crazy and he raced at the MGM
Grand and we hoped like heck he would bread the top ten.

He took fifth...in the world. So amaazng for us. So awesome and the best we could have hoped for.

Aside from what I am grateful for every year, that my family is all happy and healthy, the best thing to happen in 2008 is we bought a house.

May everyone's 2009 bring them much joy and happiness.

some of the best things for me in 08 were the happy addition to our family(my great niece), the great people that I have met on here, the great savings because of the great people on here, my dh and my health, my family still being very close and my dh having ZERO balance on his child support case(NEVER have to pay again! woo hoo!)

Happy New Year everyone and I hope this year is the greatest for us all:)

My son & dil got pregnant through AI, something we weren't sure was going to happen. My son was never asked to deploy. I am always grateful for that. My marriage continues to get better each year, 2008 being no exception. I finally got to spend quality some time with my oldest granddaughter (17) (she's still here), I finally got back into the swing of things here at BBF after a few years away. I'm happy and content with my life.

I had a mammogram 3 weeks ago and I had no new calcifications so no biopsy. My last 2 mammograms I had calcifications and biopsies. The last time showed I have atypical hyperplasia which says I am at a greater risk of getting breast cancer. So having a good mammogram was a weight lifted off of me.

My husband and kids are healthy and happy. God has been good to me. He answered my prayers.

Wow, 08... What a year! We were stable with a home the whole year. We moved twice, I have had a successful daycare business the whole year! (got kinda slow for a bit, but will be picking back up soon) I have taken care of many children and loved them all, I was given the chance to watch one be brought into this world and so blessed to have him in daycare since his 8th day in this world. I have so many things to be thankful for. Today begins my our thirteenth year of being together... I could seriously go on and on about how 08 has been great, but I will just leave it as I am glad to be in 09 just so that I can continue to improve.

We went on some nice trips this past year. My eyelid surgery was a success and has given me a lot more self-confidence. I went from a mean boss who would have thrown me to the dogs to a boss who treats me like gold. Major, major blessings!

Let's see...

I found a job that is enjoyable and I plan to stay there. Also got a promotion at work.

Was able to stock up on personal hygiene stuff thanks to Kmart double coupons.

I have most of my Christmas shopping done for 2009 already.

We were able to put a considerable amount into our savings account...something I am very proud of considering the economy.

And...everyone is in good health.
