SALEM, Ore. -- A mother accused of causing her 2-month-old son's death said she wants to take responsibility for her actions, according to court documents.
The documents released Tuesday outlined the case against Carrie Noe, 19, who was arrested Friday after paramedics responded to a 911 call to find her son, Ian Noe, dead.
Police still haven't released the results of the autopsy performed on Ian, but according to court documents, Carrie Noe was trying to paint in another room and became frustrated when her son wouldn't stop crying.
She said she picked Ian up out of his crib and put him back down "not lightly," and then picked him up again and shook him three times with her arms extended and placed him back in the crib, according to the documents. She told police that she noticed the child became limp and his breathing changed when she put him down.
According to the documents, she left the room and didn't call medics or check on Ian again until her husband got home. She told officers that she realized her actions caused the child's death and wants to take responsibility for her actions.
When paramedics arrived they tried to revive the infant, but he was already dead, police said.
I just don't understand. I've had kids, I've even had one who cried almost non-stop for the first year of her life, and yeah I've gotten frustrated but I could never hurt one of them. How could someone take such an innocent, sweet little baby and shake them like that?
