Mom Dead, 3 Daughters Found Safe

SAGINAW, Mich. -- Saginaw police said three young girls missing since their mother was found dead at their home have been found safe.

They were with their father, who's now in custody.

Police Lt. Tammy Luty said a tip Tuesday afternoon led Shiawassee County authorities to a car that matched the description of the vehicle in the Amber Alert.

The girls were inside the vehicle.

Luty said "the children are all safe and well."

Saginaw police found the body of 32-year-old Erica Olguin at her home Monday after she failed to pick up her 11-year-old son at school. Police issued a nationwide Amber Alert for her daughters, 3-year-old Victoria, 5-year-old Lilliana and 9-year-old Elena.

Police say the girls' 35-year-old father, Jose Olguin, drove the girls to Elkhart, Ind., on Monday.

Father Connected to Amber Alert Charged

SAGINAW, Mich. -- A Saginaw man is facing charges related to the death of his wife.

Prosecutors charged thirty-five-year-old Jose Olguin Wednesday with open murder and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent.

Saginaw police Chief Gerald Cliff says Olguin's wife, 32-year-old Erica Olguin, was the victim of a homicide. Her body was found Monday at the family's Saginaw home.

The Olguins' three young daughters were reported missing late Monday and were the subject of a nationwide Amber Alert. The girls were found safely with Jose Olguin around noon Tuesday in Shiawassee County, which is near Saginaw.
