You turn in the change, they give you the GC, then you mail in the bottom of the reciept for the additional $10. Only one per addresss, at least it was last year.

I've used it before, well my son has. He took in all of his change and got $84 for it. I didn't realize he had so much change lol.

I saw the thing for the extra money but that's if you put in so much change, $40, onto a giftcard, then your receipt will print out and you mail in the thing on the bottom of the receipt and they mail you a $10 giftcard to the same place

Do you loose money(%) by using coinstar or is it because you pick a retailer you do not lose anything and you have to spend there?

Is there a charge to use a Coinstar® machine?

Yes. For Coins to Cash™ service, we charge an 8.9% processing fee in the United States, a 9.8% processing fee in Canada, and a 7.9% processing fee in the U.K. Some retailers or financial institutions may choose to subsidize this fee.
Coin counting is free in select regions of the U.S. if you convert your change to a nationally-branded gift card or eCertificate such as Starbucks®, Borders®, iTunes, Pier1 Imports® or Amazon.com®.

I think you have to do at least 40.00 to get the 10.00 deal
I always get a gift card because they dont charge the fee
