I love handmade soap, the only type I use now for several years.
Deleted so they'd not be swamped.

I buy from a handful off of E-Bay, but have my favorites of them.
I'd like to try some on Etsy too. I love the moisturizing effects of handmade toiletries and the awesome scents. I am going to check this site out further myself. How much are you paying a soap? I don't get to go to our Farmer's Market much, but someone told me that they now have a couple of crafters there of toiletries & aromatherapy. Hope they are still there when the weather turns nice again. Too cold now to go walking around downtown for me! I pay $4-6 a bar usually.

Hmmmm, don't overwhelm these folks. I make and sell soap and body yogurt and the expense is high, not to mention the time. Our soaps retail for $5, and we sell to some major gift shops, galleries and casinos. My small batch is 48 bars at a time. More than a sliver with the amount of request they will have by posting this, would be asking to much.

Do you think I should remove it? I don't send for everything, but I do like to try soaps/perfumes, etc. before buying. I once got some goatsmilk soap that was very sour and another person's soap burnt from too much lye. Do you have a site? I know what you mean, a lot of candle makers send shavings. I don't mind scents on cotton balls, shavings or slivers, but it's kind of hard to tell the quality from a sliver to try.

I want to try 5, so emailed that I would send a token amount for the samples.

Don't have a website yet, my grandson is working on it and hope to have it up by January. They have a toddler so sometimes things don't work as fast as they would like! LOL I make Sweetgrass, Desert Sage, Cedarwood, Lavender, Butt Naked, Native Beauty, Patchouli, Nag Champa, Traverse City Cherry, Fragrance Free, Oatmeal Milk and Honey. Body Yogurt is a body lotion, but very thick, a little goes a long way and it does not wash off instantly. My Md's office gals use it for just that reason, they only have to apply a couple times a day. All products are guaranteed, I've yet to have anyone return or have a problem. Free shipping over $50. Body yogurt is $8 for 4 oz. and $15 for 8 oz. Several beauty shops carry my line here in town, and I retail it at Native events all over the state and ship all over the midwest.

I love Oatmeal, Milk & Honey, Cherry (almond-like) and Lavendar fragrance. Those yogurt body creams sound great! I live in the Midwest (IN), so where do you ship them to--to stores? I've been to see a couple of Native American dances. I am part Cherokee. You can send a private message to me, ok? I'm interested. Right now, funds will be tight, as hubby had major surgery and is on permanent disability. That's why I surf these freebie boards, they really help out. What's the Native Beauty one like?

Guys please don't overwhelm small soap makers. Its very expensive to make homemade soap - I was looking into it at one time. Thanks for the post but I am not going to ask for a sample because of how much it would cost for them to send it to me.

On how big the samples are probably going to be - I would guess a token size (size of a quarter). Please support small businesses when you are able. Its hard for them to give out freebies.

I'm part Cherokee too, and I vend at PowWow's in the summer. Spent a few years in Kokomo, and now live in Traverse City MI. If you are familiar with "Love Spell" by Victoria's Secrets, that is the fragrance of Native Beauty. Hey, I make my own lables and can name it whatever I want! LOL Somehow, the Love Spell name just doesn't quite make it for the Native line!

Yes, the Body Yogurt is great! I put it in a bottle and squirt out samples at PowWow's in the summer time to everyone that walks up to my booth. Folks love it, and pretty soon the entire PowWow has the fragrance of Sweet Grass. I also make incense, and carry 36 fragrances. I don't package it, just put it in quart jars with a lable on them and people mix and match them. Folks just follow their nose to my booth! Don't have any stores down your way yet, but I'd be more than happy to contact any that are in your area if you have any Names and Phone #'s!

Some lady sells her candles at my hairdresers and another who is an employee puts her crotcheted items out, so that may be a good place to start. I will try to find some for you. Now how do I send you a message privately here & vice-versa so we can do business?
Yeah, you might as well call it Shaman Magic since it would be a Native Love Spell!

Did anyone get their soap sample yet?
Was the soap harsh, I seem to have sensitive skin and some soaps seem to aggravate it.

Got mine & it's wonderfully moisturizing. I am definitely going to order from her.

I changed my settings for you, Santarra, but will then remove it. Sometimes you get things you don't want in your email when you join sites like this and so I save myself the hassle of it all.

Thanks, I'll have to order some. What one did you get? I've had some trouble with some home made soaps before that seem to moisturize and then burn, maybe it's from the lye.
My favorite was one I bought at a gift shop while on vacation and I never was able to find it again. I think I bought it in Arizona. I think the name was Native something and the scent was something like dessert flower. It was very soothing and mild and smelled wonderfutl.

Santarra, when you set up a web site please message me. I have my messages set up so I'll get an email notification.

I like to try before I buy too. One time I got some that burnt like fire from too much lye & another time a goatmilk's soap that smelled sour. I got the Coconut Isle and Apple Jack from her. Handmade is all I buy and so I am definitely interested & may be why she sent 2. I am emailing her to tell her I will be ordering as soon as things get back to near-normal again (hubby almost died in the hospital after surgery from something they gave him in a breathing treatment, that & low potassium level).
I had to add you as a buddy, then I can get/send private messages.

Thank you, SG. Poor guy has had nearly 20 surgeries in the 32 years we've been wed. They spent 3 hours trying to keep him alive. His stomach muscles ripped open when he was coming home (roads are rough here in IN) and the coughing he did trying to bring junk up. He had to go back into the hospital, then when he is stronger, they will have to open him up again & repair thos stomach muscles or he will have hernias. Nothing has ever been easy for him.

I sent you an email santarra. I can recommend these people on E-Bay: toadstoolsoaps (Cheryl), rezcel (Christa) and somethin_special.

I just didn't want the lady, who is very nice, to be swamped with requests for free soap. I would suggest to those wanting a sample, they send her a couple of bucks or something. Or just buy, as they are reasonably priced for skin-softening, good lather, soft to the feel, nicely scented, good-sized soap. She now has some Pumpkin Spice, which I love up!http://www.hiddenbrookfarm.net/
