I was just wondering if any of you have one of these little things? I do and I really like it, I am going to have my son update it tommorrow I think it is time had it for about a year and a half and there is so many new roads and everything. I would be lost sometimes if I didn't have it.

My son's cross country team would be lost without mine-we form a line of cars and they all follow me and that stupid voice/lol. Hate "recalculating" too-but she gets us where we need to go.

Depending on what brand you have, a regular USB down to mini USB cord should work (ie the one you use for your digital camera)

We have had a Garmin for about 2 years and love it - more Hubby's than mine and I have a cheaper but almost as good VAIO for my car. They come in handy - especially at night.

I have gps on my cell phone. Its great to have it comin in on my bluetooth. The annoying woman gets changed every once in awhile to other womens voices or mens vocies. I have like 6 options in voices lol. I just moved to the Sacramento area and without it it would take me forever to find places!

I personally do not need a gps since I live in RI and you don't have to go far to get anywhere.. If me and the dh are not in RI we use his iPhone as a gps system, it rocks *nod

I was in Radio Shack the other day, and they have a "Knight Rider" one. The owner told me that it will address you by name just like Kit would! I want it!!!

I also hate hearing her say..."When possible, make a legal Uturn." I could scream!!! LOL.

Hubby drives a Lexus and it is built in. I have named it Lola because of how she talks. We absolutely love it. Just beware that she can be wrong sometimes.

Mine came with my Jeep. I finally after 5 months found the place to shut that woman up. I have the volume on her down to a one - it would come on and be so loud it would scare me half to death. Haven't tried other voices yet - found that also one day when it was annoying me and I was stuck in traffic.

As for the stand alone type - two of my bosses have tom tom's and they both like them. One of them has a Magellan and actually prefers it to the tom tom since it is easier to adjust the volume on the fly.

I'd recommend a TomTom, particularly the 130S or the 330S, which are both extremely affordable and very easy to use. Comes with a 30-day map guarantee so you can make sure that you have the most updated map. Plus, you can always find them at an affordable price.

I have the indash Nav system from Scion. It was expensive (2000) and not worth it IMO, but DH wanted it.

I'd rather have had dvd players in the back of the headrests (and it was 300 cheaper too!)
