PBS running poll on Sarah Palin. AFA counters by running poll on Barack Obama.
October 13, 2008
Dear Friend,
PBS, the most liberal network in America (funded, incidentally, by your tax dollars) is running a poll concerning Sarah Palin. Their question is: Do you think Sarah Palin is qualified to serve as Vice President of the United States?
Since PBS and the liberal media will widely publicize the results, AFA has decided to run a poll concerning the qualifications of Barack Obama.
The question: Do you think Barack Obama is qualified to serve as President of the United States? Take the Poll!
PBS refuses to show the number of individuals voting in their poll. It could be that only a small handful voted. AFA will show the number voting.
Please send this to your family and friends.
For regular updates on this poll, check the top center column at www.afa.net.
Sincerely,
Donald E. Wildmon,

I actually used to donate to PBS yearly. I wont be this year. I think they should have stayed out of politics.

Yep and the Humane Society can kiss it goodbye, too. I'll give my donations to a local rescue who does not endorse a presidential candidate. How many spay/neuters do you think they could've done with the money they spent to send out emails and mailers?? I, mistakenly, thought that's what my donations were doing.

I got an email from the Humane society today telling me to watch Oprah.
I used their unsubscribe link and emailed them that I was boycotting Oprah and anything that has anything to do with her.
I wasn't aware they were promoting Obama too.
When will this end. When will people learn to put the whole picture together.
The Annenberg foundation also had strong ties to PBS and they had classes on broadcasting. I think that might have something to do with the media being so extremely left wing.

They are asking you to watch Oprah cause she's doing a piece on puppymills.
I wouldn't watch Oprah. If you wanta know about puppymills, I'll tell you all about puppymills. You can also go to nopuppymills.com and read all about 'em. People have been reporting on them and screaming about them for years. But, now that Oprah's done two shows on them, HS acts like she's god.
Plus, they all support the messiah. Maybe they can ask him for a check next year. Let's see what they get.

The show they wanted me to watch was on how farm animals are treated.
I'll never send them another cent if they are pro Obama.
I don't want my donations to go towards his campaign.
Maybe I should send them another email.

It's the Humane Society Legistlative Fund, an affiliate of the HS.
makes me sick and endorsed him via a questionionnaire and he supported a couple of popular animal protection laws. Problem with the laws is getting someone to enforce them. We've got laws, judges won't enforce them.
Plus, we all know how BHO means what he says and never changes his mind. I guess as long as it's politically good for him, he'll support animals. As soon as it's not, he'll probably toss them under the bus with all the rest.
My stand (and this was discussed on a rescue board) is that if he won't even pass laws to protect 'born alive' babies, how can I think he'll really stand up for animals. But that's me. I want someone to put their money where their mouth is.

You're so right on that one.
That is the main reason that I'm so against Barack Hussein Obama is his stand when it comes to abortion. He is a cold hearted monster as far as I'm concerned. He is even more left wing than all the rest of the left wing liberals, who think they want to save the world and then want babies murdered.
Maybe we should start calling them the inhumane society.

I didn't watch the puppy mill show Oprah had cause I couldn't stand to see all those poor puppies being hurt.
Oprah said she decided to do the show when a man from some society put up a big billboard asking Oprah to do a show on puppy mills outside her studio. I thought, I bet she wouldn't even look at a billboard asking her to do a show on how many babies are killed each year through abortions and how many will be killed if they are born alive after a botched abortion. So much for priorities.

I wanted to add that the ASPCA has remained neutral on the election as far as I can tell and are a great organization. Most every city has one, so you can still donate to the animals.

I did send the Humane Society an email and asked if they were aware of Obama's stand on late term abortions and also on babies that are born alive after an abortion attempt. Then I told them they should change their name to the inhumane society. I really wonder if they will bother to reply.

Yeah, it looks like PBS is in the tank for Obama too.
Their poll reminded me of this. Got to love how Newt slaps down this Obama kool aid drinker.

This is a copy of what the Humane Society sent.
We write in regard to your recent communication about political endorsements, to acknowledge the concerns you raised, and to clarify a point of potential misunderstanding. To be clear, The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) does not endorse candidates or play any role in getting them elected, in compliance with the Internal Revenue Service’s strict prohibition on endorsement activities by 501(c)(3) organizations.
Outside of the election cycle, in its legislative and public policy work on behalf of animals, The HSUS operates on a fully bipartisan basis and cooperates with lawmakers of every stripe. We have done so throughout our 54-year history, and that approach has permitted us to work with supportive leaders in both of the major political parties.
The HSUS is an entirely separate entity from the Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF), which made the recent endorsement in the presidential election. As a (501)(c)(4) social welfare organization, HSLF is permitted to support or oppose candidates, and its endorsements are made strictly on the basis of an individual’s record concerning animal welfare. That is HSLF’s fundamental mandate. If HSLF took into account the positions of legislators on other social, domestic, or foreign policy issues, it would never be successful in its core mission of advancing the interests of animals.
We appreciate your previous support for the work of The HSUS, and we hope that you will consider renewing your membership in the future. However, if you would like to be removed from our mailing and/or email lists at this time, please let me know, and we will process this request for you.
We hope we have addressed your inquiries and comments appropriately. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly.
Thank you, again, for contacting The HSUS.
Sincerely,
Cheryl Rhodes

It was probably just a form letter, and how dare they endorse someone that thinks it's cool to kill babies. Especially late term abortions and the innocent babies that survive an abortion attempt.
whatever
