Well, another one bytes the dust. I'm afraid this is going to keep up... we've already lost a bunch of oldie musicians, and, it's only going to continue.

I'm going to DREAD it when 'my man' goes... Eric Burdon (of the Animals).

These guys made it happen long before computers and synthesizers.

It's a shame, an awesome generation of 'music makers' are dying away. I guess we are lucky to have known their music, the music is always there, it never dies.

I am old !! :(

I am also the baby of the family... with a brother 12 years older, and two sisters older... when I was 10'ish, my friends were into Bobby Goldsboro, David Cassidy etc... I was into The Stones, Rare Earth, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Alice Cooper, The Dead etc...

THANK GOD my Dad loved music as well, he kept us kids well stocked in the music we were into !

I think a great era in music is coming to an end. I hate it when I turn on the classic rock station and Nirvana is playing. Man, that wasn't THAT long ago! Besides, the '60 and '70s were when there was real music. Now days, it is all imitation. It is so hard to get who is who straight because they all sound alike.

I always liked Guns 'n Roses. I did stage security for Steppenwolf a couple of times. John had to be one of the nicest guys I have ever met.

Makes me think of our own mortality. All these groups and many others, I have loads of them on vinyl. Yep, I'm a purist and have hundreds of albums from back in the day. RIP Rick and "Shine on you Crazy Diamond"!!!
