Does anyone ever have pain in any of their joints when they get cold?
My right shoulder aches at night(well and other times of the day as well) when it gets cold. I notice it more when DH runs the fan and/ or the window air conditioning unit at night.
It bothered me for a while then went away, now it is back. I think I might have injured that shoulder at work a couple of years ago setting shelves (stupid me never reported it) and now it bothers me every so often.
It isnt like it is a real pain, it just aches and nags me. It is right where my arm and shoulder meet. Right in the top of the joint.
I know what will help it, but DH wont give up his damn fan.
Any info or experience you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I do it has gotten so bad I cant lift my arm all the way. It started like you did and now it is an all the time thing getting worse and worse. Drs say either tendonitis or poss torn rotator cuff. I am not sure if I truely want to know. I am on an anti inflamatory it is the only thing that is helping.

I have had a torn rotator cuff (handball & tennis when I was younger) and it flares up sometimes. Especially if there is a continued draft on it. I use those ThermaCare stick on things - they give relief quickly.

Yes arthritis in a joint will do that. That happens to me when I lie on my side and my hip is up. Yes it is the fan, we also have one and dh likes it for the noise so it is aimed up but it bounces back down. It also aggravates my restless legs if it blows right on them.

I work for a DO who sees many patients with symptoms similair to what you are experiencing. It sounds similiar to the previous post of a tendonitis, however it could just be as simple as arthritis. Many people have these symptoms and brush them off as "over doing" it the day before. I would make an appointment with your family doctor to see how they feel about prescribing a medication called CELEBREX. It is an ani-inflammatory similiar to Motrin but it is 1 pill a day (as opposed to 3-4) and has less probability of causing any stomach problems with long term use. It has had great results with my patients and maybe it is right for you. Hope this helps.....

Just remember that if you have sinus problem or problems with polups (sp) in the nose those arent a good medicine to take they make them worse. I just found that out 3 months ago.

No insurance. It doesnt hurt that bad, it just aches(kinda like cramps) when it gets cold. I dont even like to take tylenol or asprin. So I havent been taking anything for it.
I am beginning to wonder if it is bursitis. I looked at the shoulder make up, and where it hurts is right where the bursa is.

Not going off-topic but I appreciate the suggestions here because I have a slight tear in my rotator cuff. PT didn't help and I must have done something wrong the other day because it has really been hurting.

Mine does that - the worst are when there is a cold front with rain. However, mine is from a broken upper arm where the shaft & the head of the Humerus meet. I still take Celebrex daily for it. It does work great. If you don't get relief from Motrin try Aleve it has Naproxin which does the same as Celebrex except you have to take it 3 times per day instead of 1 time per day for Celebrex.
