I live in pa and had some items in my uncles safe. After he passed away i was unable to get those items because of probate etc. I notified the executor and attorney handling the estate and told them verbally and in writing i had items in the safe and what they were. i later found out that everything had been sold because of debt of estate i went to the police and told them and was informed that it was a civil matter and get a lawyer but the did give me some advice which i followed but they refuse to answer my phone calls or letters. now i want to file an official report can they refuse saying it's civil or do they have to file if i insist?

I'm in Pa as well and I wouldn't doubt it since this state is nuts!! I went to file a police report when my money came up missing and they wouldn't let me. So, I don't quite know.

The attorney should know.

NO THEY CAN'T .. they might tell you they won't, but if you insist they should take it... someone was trying to get out of the paper work, probably cause THEY didn't think it was important.... MAKE THEM DO IT.......
