Anyone watch this new HBO series? DH & I were a little intrigued by the concept and decided to check it out. Now it is in my DVR list.

Vampires have agreed to drink synthetic blood and so have come into mainstream society, only there are some renegade vampires that still want the 'real' thing.

dvr'd it but haven't watched yet, later this week I hope, looked really good from previews but i love vampire stuff. Hope I'm not disappointed.

This is definitely on our DVR list. We loved it! That hour flew by so quick I honestly thought when it ended it had only been on about 20 minutes. Can't wait til next ep.

I really liked the premise- that vampires are out in the open and part of society... but I think it was just executed so poorly.

It was poorly written and all the fake southern accents made me crazy!

I will watch again and give it another try, but my Sunday nights might be opening up soon.

:yeah that accent was driving me nuts and the way they talk... do ppl really talk like that in the deep south? "oh my stars!" LOL give me a break. I'm going to give it another chance too...

Actually, yes... ppl DO say "oh my stars". I say it. I actually say it because I find OMG rude... BUT... that is just MY reason. Most ppl say it cause we grew up w/ our parents and grandparents saying it... the accents were thick for where I am from, but most ppl I know from Louisiana have a cajun accent, not what was on the show.

I don't know... I guess I personally don't like cliff hangers at the end of every single episode and I think this show will be like that. It does look like next week or the next few episodes big things are really going to start happening, but I'm not sure I'll continue to watch it myself. You can always go to HBO on demand to see last night's ep.

I just bought Twilight and can't wait to read that, wanted to do so before the movie came out in November.

I think the next (3rd) episode the show will start to get better, Looks much more promising. And any new show takes at least 3-4 episodes to start to get a following too.

There are never really any 1 episode and INSTANT HIT anymore.. but the networks and pay channels expect it or drop it much too soon.

I have been watching this since the first episode and watch the last one again the next night . Its getting really interesting. And Bill is so sexy . Don't want too spoil what hasn't been seen....but I liked all 10 Its a guessing game between me and my DH and so far I have been right. Evidently I have seen more horror movies or I have paid more attention

I just discovered it a few days ago and had to dvr all of the episodes and catch up. Only two more episodes left, but they are saying "this season".
My favorite part of the show is the beginning, the song and the pictures.
"I want to do bad things to you!"
I haven't been real dissapointed so far. Some things are a little far fetched, but thats what you get. It is very easy to predict what is going to happen next.

I am a huge vampire fan though. Vampire tattoos and all. I'll watch and read anything about vampires!

It's based on a series by Charlaine Harris. It's known by 2 names, either the Sookie Stackhouse series or the Southern Vamps Series. right now there are 8 books out and they're great! I downloaded all of them on limewire and read them in like 4 days! the show is good, but alot of stuff doesn't match. I knew it wouldn't be exact, but come on now, some things have gone way out of bounds.

I'm still completely in love w/ this show. I am so sad that there are only 2 eps left this season. Hopefully they won't make us wait more than a year for season 2.

I'll have to look for those books then. Books are almost always better than the show or movie. That's what makes me nervous about the Twilight movie, I hope it does the book justice. True Blood has picked up and it is a good show, it just had a slow start.

We watched episodes 1-5 last night.. I have to say I like it.. the first 2 I wasn't sure if I was going to like it... but now I am hooked... hopefully he will hurry up and get the rest downloaded so I can see them..lol

Witches, Weres, Vampires, Shifters, Fairies... Are there going to be ghosts?
I really love vampire stories but I guess I was expecting it to be better.
The shows were so much better then the books!
