Heard fromTravis today from Basic Training...

I so needed this phone call..I was having a very depressing friday night last night...and I cried and cried....It's been a long 10 days...and I think God works in mysterious ways... Today around 4 pm..I got the phone call...I was so happy ..when I heard his voice..say..."hi mom"....SIGH..it was so good to hear from him... that 4 minutes meant so much to me. He has been doing good. He told me that he weighed in at 136 the first day..and now he weighs 150?? I"m like what? and he laughs and says..Yeah..I got my 6 pack back. :)
SO i think he's liking the way his body is changing! :) I was asking him if he's done good..and he said he only got called out once...I said what for...he says..they were in line and a mosquito bit his neck and he swiped at it...and the drill sgt went off on him...LOL He's like..always be in control...I'm like..YEP..that's what I tried to do all his life...LOL BUT it was good to hear from him...ok..I'm done now..I've just been beaming with pride..and no one is here for me to share the news with!!! I am a proud ARMY mom...OK..I said it!!! :)

I am glad he is doing good. The military has a way of putting young people on track. And we never doubted you were a proud army mom.

Thanks Everyone..You guys really make me feel good..I really mean that.
For some reason..I have no real life friends here in kansas city. Just the 2 people I work for...LOL AND they are like my mom and dad. BUT I really appreciate all the nice and caring words..I really mean that.
Graduation is on Halloween. He is in Oklahama right now, Ft. Sill, It's about a 7 hour drive from here..so we'll leave that wednesday of that week and stay until saturday! After his graduation he leaves for Alabama. That's going to be a hard one for me too. BUT we'll make it!!
