Sampson

I have just finished burying Sampson.

His kidneys failed, and he was going into congestive heart failure. The vet said that if it had been one or the other, maybe there would have been something we could do.

After 2 days of crying, and watching him not eat, and not pee, and not enjoy the things he used to, I made the decision to have him put to sleep.

I feel like ****.

I am sitting here trying to tell myself that it was better this way, and that atleast he wont suffer. He had a long life, he was 16 years old.

I know that I have only had him a short time, but I didn't know he was going to steal my heart so quickly.

My heart hurts for you! I have gone through that too and it took me forever to get over it when we had to put Peaches down.

You should be so grateful you got 16 years, that is such a long life for your puppy. You did what you needed to do-- that was such a selfless decision I know Sampson is grateful for it.

I am so sorry. I lost my almost 14 year old furry baby just before Christmas of last year. I had her since she was a little ball of fuzz. The decision is not an easy one to make, but it is the only one we can make when they suffer. My heart breaks for you.
