I bid on a pc game and won the item. I get home this morning and checked my e-mail. Got a message from seller asking me not to pay for item cuz he was out of stock. Then got an e-mail from ebay saying that the seller and i had a mutual agreement to cancel because i bidded on item in error. It kinda pisses me off that he would say it was my error just so he can get his fees back. I'm almost thinking that since i won the game so cheap that's why he's saying it's out of stock. I responded to ebay and told them we didn't have a mutual agreement because why post something for sale if you don't have it. Is that wrong of me to do? Is this normal for ppl to do on ebay?

I would leave a negative and not agree to end the auction. That is ridiculous. He is violating the rules by selling something he doesn't have in stock. You can report him.

Did you forward his email to ebay? If not, it'd be a good thing to do. I agree neg him! He violated ebay's TOS now let him suffer the consequences.

I certainly would not agree to that either. That is putting the blame for the canceling of the transaction on you.

I agree w/ the others, let us know what ebay says, that is bad business that he went ahead and told them you had a mutual agreement... especially when that was news to you
