Ok so I'm going to a bridal shower on Saturday for a very good friend and the theme of the shower is the "Alphabet". Each guest is given a letter in their invitation. The letter you receive represents the gift you should buy. The gift has to start with that particular letter. Mine just so happened to be the letter N. I have no idea what to get...and I know she won't use "napkin rings" lol
any help?
thanks :)

A Napoleon Dynamite dvd. That's a hard one. I can't think of too many things that start with the letter N that you could give as a gift.

its a bridal shower, give her a sexy NIGHTIE????
An engraved nameplate with their last name for their house or mailbox
neck pillows
nesting bowls
Night out.. get an envelope and put "NIGHT OUT" on it, include a gift card to a local restaurant, movie tickets to a local theater, and maybe a few bucks on a gas card.
like others before and after me have suggested, if you have them in your area, you might get them from restaurants that start with N, and movies that start with N

Try these ideas:
"N" is for NEEDS..
Maybe some salt and pepper shakers from Tiffany's..I always see these and send these to friends who are not my "best friends" or the gift I get stuck buying for the BF being his guest..
"N" is for NAMESAKE...get a tree planted or a star named for your wedding people in thier names and the date and time of the big day..you could contact the Arbor Tree Society and have a tree planted in thier names..you could send a donation to the Troops/ Red Cross/ whatever charity in thier names..
You could put thier names on keepsake glassware, in my parents case it is E for Edward, R for our last name in the middle in cap, "a" for his middle name so it seems to sound weird but my parents got these and this has been repeated in my family..so it would kinda of look like..E, smaller..R...bigger, A smaller...any glass sketch atrist would know what I mean...
You could invest with a few friends, so a NOTHING BOX..but later present them in a different box, a SILVER CUP, Tiffanys does these, and it is PRICELESS TO MY FAMILY, the names and date of the wedding, later to be passed to thier children to be used for the Anniversary of the newly married and used yearly for thier private or not so private celebrations and we use my Mama and Daddy's for all kids who get married..that and champagne and a toast..and it will be passed down for years, my parents have used this yearly for thier Anniversary, and all kids weddings and as the grand kids get older will be used for thier weddings..this is a great idea..that way everyone remembers thier parents and thier lives to come, even if some got divorced..LOL..we are using this this weekend for my parents 50th!
"N" is for Napkins, but this has been taken, you could but the intials on linen and get the last ame letter for the holder..
I would love to see you do the Silver or Gold or Crystal cup, it is a great family hierloom for my family!
I bet Amazon or Macy's sells something like this!
Good Luck!

How about a nutcracker? That may start a lot of jokes toward the bride at the shower though. Be careful.

Do they have a gift registry? If so maybe you can fudge using "New" or "Nice" - just make a small sign says " new, nice" and tack it on to the blender or whatever box before wrapping - you will get a laugh...
o/t ?? - was at a shower last week they registered at BB&B and all the gifts were wrapped/bagged in the same ugly black/white /gray wraps, because they let BB&B do the free wrapping - was so-o-o-o boring and also made ugly ribbon bouquets too - doesn't anyone wrap presents creatvely anymore??

Ok so I think I've narrowed it down to 4 possible items...lol
1. Necklace with their initials engraved and date of wedding
2. Nightie (Lingerie)
3. Night Out Package
4. Buying something of her registry and putting "new" on it...lol
This is kinda tuff...Darn the letter N!

Kohl's carries the Nordicwear kitchen item line. Several items to chose from. You could give a Netflix subscription. I believe you can do as little as 1 month or up to a year.

Let us know what you decide and tell us what some of the other people did with their letters. Some letters might actually be worse than N. What if you got A? can't think of much but apples. This sounds like fun to me.
I like the nutcracker idea myself.
