I would like to run away for a week or a month!

I am so tired of the same problems, the same problems, the same problems.
I would love to run away for about a week, just pack a few clothes, a whole stack of books, take my dog and go find a place on a nice river where I could look out and see the river and wear my nightgown all day, eat cereal for supper and read.
I would like no phone, possibly no tv or maybe just a vcr and a stack of movies, but no news. I would also like bags of cookies and cake. I told my husband I wanted to run away and he said where do you want us to go? He didn't get the point.
I honestly wish I could come up with a cheap place to go. It could even be a cheap but nice hotel right here in my own city where no one could call me with problems for a week.
Has anyone else ever felt this way?

Oh yeah I told my husband I'd like to go to a deserted island with no phones and just enjoy the peace and quiet for a while. Well really if I was rich I'd move to one and live there. I hope it gets better for you.

lol sounds like my hubby. i run my hubby up to the delta in mississippi. i dispatched him lol. well i had to have a driver up there and he was it. :devil

I hope you're able to get a break, I know how you feel, I've been craving a "get away from reality" for quite some time. I would just like to pack up the car, throw in the dogs.. hell I'll even let my friend Luke come but he can't whine and/or complain :lol of course I'd like to go some where in doors where I can get room service ;)

I spoke to my sister that lives close to me last night and she knows an older woman that offered up her cabin on the lake to my sister to use sometime this summer/fall. She said I think you and I need to go for a weekend and let the husbands have the kids (she has 2 daughters 16 and 14) boy that sounds really good.....now if we can get it arranged!!
