What is best liquid laundry soap or powder soap? Powder soap sales are dying out and i am curious why........Is there really a big difference in what one uses??

I use Tide or Gain.... the Ultra kind so you use less...
I have always hated powder, it seems to stick to the clothes in spots...jmo

I use gain, makes the cloths small like heaven, love it. Powder caused a problem in the drainage syst. gooking everything up,making drainage a problem,so alot of plumbers and even manufact. suggested its best not to use powder in the machines,so this being why liquid is becoming so popular.
Its better anyway, you can pretreat easier, better measurment, and like she said no goop stuck to clothing.

I use liquid, I have a high effiency so it recommends HE laundry soap and that's what I use( I don't know if they make HE powder) takes liquid for normal washing. Oh it does have a spot for prewash....that says powder.

I use Gain too....I used the Apple Mango Tango until I got my HE now I use the regular scented HE Gain and the fabric softener.....LOVE IT!

I have had issues also w/ powder not completely dissolving. I usually use the gain ultra b/c I get coupons a lot so it doesn't cost much. Plus its small and compact

I would find clumps on clothes, but found if I put it in and filled to smallest load then let it agitate some to dissolve the powder some that helped alot.
I use liquid I like it better.

I use Liquid Tide. I had problems getting the powder to completely dissolve and it would leave white spots on the clothes.

I use the walmart brand of liquid soap. Its a good price and I like the way it smells.

I however do NOT use any kind of dryer sheets.

I have used liquid Tide or Gain for years - and vary the sents. I also use the liquid fabric softener.

Powders didn't dissolve correctly, and the residue caused contact dermatitis. Powders can also clog up the drainage tubes.

I use Liquid Cheer or Gain. I use liquid fabric softener most of the time, and dryer sheets other times. I dont like the powder for the same reason as everyone else.

I use liquid as well. I am not even sure when or why I switched to liquid. I have always started the wash then add the soap so maybe thats why I didn't get spots? I have to use ALL the free clear one...due to my sons allergies. But I do love the smell of Gain, just can't use it.

I use liquid too because the powder clumps. I use either Seventh Generation or Citrasuds since they're both all natural.

Tide and Gain are both P&G products. Try Tide again, but next time use less. It really doesnt take a whole capful.

I love the powder version of Arm & Hammer detergent. It is wonderful at getting out the scents that can gather on band, tennis and yard clothes.
BUT.... the stores down here stopped carrying powders at all about 2 years ago.
So, we had to switch to the liquid version. I still just use Arm & Hammer detergent.

I use Tide liquid HE or Era X2 liquid. Powder seems to clump.
I use Doney ultra liquid for softener.

I use gain love it! The powder alot of people don't use because of the clumps but if you desolve it in a bowl of hot water before putting it in your clothing in you won't get that.

We use Wisk. Powder never dissolves completely even in hot water. Then I have an extra rinse feature so I let the tub fill up and let the clothes soak in downy then spin it out. Don't rinse it out. The clothes smell wonderful and even though we still use it, it does eliminate the NEED for any kind of perfume or cologne.

I use Arm & Hammer or Purex Liquids here (sometimes I use Gain, Era etc if they are really cheap). I am a tightwad and I wash so much I just use cheaper soaps and a good smelling dryer sheet.

I only use either All Free and Clear or Kirkland (Costcos brand) dye free/perfume free. My DS and I have eczema so we can only use scent and dye free detergent. I dont think I have ever used power. I dont know why, I just always buy the liquid. LOL

I use either Tide or Gain.. I prefer the powder for some reason. i dont have a prob with it gooking up. I put the powder in first, then the clothes. I know a lot of people, including dh, that puts clothes in, then soap and thats why it clumps. But I will use the liquid if its on sale. I find I can get the huge boxes and its hard to find huge bottles of liquid

I use Gain powder and never had a problem either unless you put clothes in then pour powder on top of them. I always get the water started, put the powder in and let the bottom of the tub fill to cover the powder and then add clothes.

I use Arm & Hammer powder and liquid. (which ever is cheaper at the time) My husband pours concrete and gets it on his clothes. Arm & Hammer is the only thing that will get it off. I love the smell of Gain but am allergic to it.

I used to use the Wisk tablets faithfully, anyone remember those? I can't find them anywhere now and I miss them. They were a powdered form of detergent, but they quickly dissolved in water. They cleaned my husbands work clothes better than anything else I have ever tried. He is a welder and man, he comes home dirty!

Now we stick with Gain liquid, I like the smell and it cleans pretty good. I have a small spray bottle that I keep in the laundry cabinet. It's full of the liquid to pre-treat stains with before washing them.

I also use Snuggle fabric softener.
