My daughter had surgery last night

Last night my kids were playing in the garage and my youngest daughter started screaming so I put the baby in the crib and ran in there to find my oldest daughter shaking and blood running down her arm. There was blood everywhere and she was shaking so much. I was looking all over her arm to see where the blood was coming from and I saw her finger was just hanging there by a little bit of skin, I was so scared! Ran in the house and put her hand under cold water then I wrapped it up in a towel. She wasnt talking much just shaking so I wasnt sure what happened, but my husband had just got home so we rushed her to the hospital and they calmed her down and she said she fell out of the chair and her finger got caught. They took her back for surgery right away and they attached it, but we are not sure if it will get blood flow back to it to save it. All we can do is hope for the best! She came home this morning and she is just resting now and in lots of pain:( I am so emotional and its so hard to keep from crying in front of her :( Please keep her in your thoughts!

Awww... WOW! Poor kid! I'm sure shes just been resting all day.
My dad was a butcher & I remember he'd cut a finger off every couple of years or so., they'd sew it back on & it was as good as new.

You are all so sweet :) She has been resting all day. I will post what happens at her appt. on Monday. She doesnt really remember exactly what happened and I dont think she has really seen her finger they were very careful at the hospital it keep it covered so she didnt get scared. I think she was is shock , but my youngest daughter (4) saw the whole thing and she is still terrified! She wont leave her sisters side.

My prayers are with you and your famliy. I know that it is scary thing when your child gets hurt or surgery. Mine had two major spinal surgeries when she was 14. I was an emotional wreck for about six months. All I did is cry.
One thing I did learn is that you need family and friends support let them help out if you need them. It will help you emotionally and other wise. I pray for her speedy recovery.

She was doing okay as of this morning, but tonight she has a fever so we have been watching that really close. She has lots of pain but they gave her good meds to help. Thanks again everyone for all of your prayers :)

I havent seen it since before she had surgery and it was completly white then. They put a green splint thing over it so there is no way to see it. I am so scared to see what it looks like when we go on Monday. she is being so brave good thing because Im a wreck!

you all are so sweet I just wanna give you all a big ol hug:grouphug She is doing okay today. She seems to be getting the pains in her hand and arm rather than her finger so not sure what that means. She has been getting all kinds of cards, stickers and little get well things from some very special people on here thanks so much :) It has really helped to take her mind off of what happened. We told her that she might loose her finger and she seemed okay about it, I am thinking that she just doesnt understand what that means. My DH and I are still just sick feeling about it. We both just wish we could have had it happen to us rather than her. That image of what happened just keeps replaying in my head over and over again. Her little sister is taking it the hardest, she refuses to go in the garage and she wont leave her sisters side. I wish she didnt have to see that it really impacted her in a bad way :( Please keep her in your thoughts as we are going to the Dr. on Monday to find out if the first surgery worked or not. I will be sure to post as soon as I get home. Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers, coming on here to read your comments helps me everyday :)

We are back from the Dr. and he said it looked okay to him( I thought it looked horrible) There was no black spots so that was good :) We are going to keep seeing him every week for the next 3 weeks and see if it will heal on its own. He took all of the bandages off and she just has to keep a regular bandaid on it. He said that when kids are under 6 they have a better chance of it healing (she is 8) so we will just wait and see. Thanks for all of your prayers they seem to be working!

Its great to hear she is doing good, and that her finger is healing good. Little kids heal exceptionally well, even past the age of 6. (because they have a higher chance of hurting themselves ).
