Wall Murals-Don't Do It!!!

My Dd talked me into getting her a wall mural to go with her beach themed bedroom. Okay, I thought $78 was a little steep, but she's a good kid, and doesn't ask for much. But tonight we attempted to put the darn thing on her wall. Holy smokes! Put it this way, if it falls on her in the night, so be it. The glue is crap, the panels are waaaay too large, and the seems never go right. Even with me drawing a grid on the wall with a yard stick and a level. I was ready to yank it off and paint the wall yellow to match the rest of her room about 2 and a half hours into this mess. I've hung wallpaper before...this stuff is just evil.

Never again.

I want to see a picture too! I painted a castle on McKenzie's wall. I had looked at the murals that you paste up, but decided painting it would work just as well. I used a brick stencil though.

I got it at Lowes. I don't know what the company name is, as I threw the box away. With a few choice words.

I did have better luck this morning, though. There were still some bubbles where the glue didn't catch, so I got my handy steam iron out, loaded it with water, and ironed the darn thing. It looks great! We got her room put back together, hung curtains where her ugly closet doors used to be, and hung all her junk back on the walls. That's really neat & soon the memory will fade of how hard it was to put up in the first place.......that is until she comes to you next month & tell you she's tired of looking at it & she is hoping she can paint the walls! :lol

That's so cool.. I want to have a Mural done on my one living room wall, it'a way to big to hang pictures on they would just look out of place.. I also want a beach scene.
