I drive Sunrise Hwy to work every day & I definately don't drive as fast & try to stay out of the fast lane. Mostly I drive my minivan which sucks up enough gas. I drive slower because of the high gas prices. How about you?

I am not driving: stupid casts.

But, my family has cut back on driving the truck. Everyone wants to drive the minivan (27 mpg) over my truck (14 mpg). Plus, my family has not done much this summer. Can not say it is due to gas, since I can not walk... but I can tell everyone is for conservation.

My son put $40 in each vehicle yesterday: Van got almost 1/2 a tank: truck got 1/3. But at the mpg: the truck will not go far (maybe 120 miles).
The van will get about 300 miles on that

lmao, this is the Phoenix area, you get to pssd off to drive slow, these freeways will swallow you up and belch you out,but around the area streets,I try to take it easy on the gas peddle, knowing its going to rob us dry to put more gas in the car. Its just getting crazy on the prices, something needs to be done, still remeber when I could get gas for 89 to 99 cents a gallon, oooo the by gone years...

I won't exceed 5 miles over the speedlimit at any time. I only drive in our little suburb, which really is only about a 7 mile radius., so I barely will hit 50mph.

Sorry about the cast. It really sucks how much it takes to fill up the tank. $60did not quite fill the minivan. $40 not even giving you a half tank is sick!

I'm trying to drive slower. We only have one vehicle right now so Adam's biking to work everyday, so that's definitely saving us some gas $$.

No, we're not driving any slower. In Houston you'd be carjacked for doing that. We aren't driving around as much though. Only when needed. Cost $52.00 to fill up my Chevy Malibu Sunday. Used to be around $20.00 to fill it up....sad, sad, sad.

Yes, I have been. I have been trying to stay right at the speed limit. I used to do 7 miles over. I also have slowed down when coming to a stop or taking off from a stop. They said on the news that can save 35% just by doing those 2 things. I was bad for gunning it once the light turned green.

I drive the same as always. I don't drive more than 5 MPG's over the speedlimit to begin with and if there isn't traffic, I use my cruise control like I always did. This is only on the freeway of course .. lol.

AWWW poor Truckr LOL

We just don't drive as much. The only time I drive is if I have to, otherwise we are at home. Unfortunately, my husband drives a truck for a living and because of fuel prices, the demand for drivers as dropped :(

No, we just dont go anywhere unless neccesary. If we have to go into town we do everything at once. We have changed some of our driving habits like was stated above. We dont brake as fast and dont start as fast either. You can forget running the air conditioner. We wont even go there. LOL So with 2 little ones in the car we dont go anywhere that much.

Being that it's summer, and the kids and I don't really have to go anywhere, I'm trying to stay at home as often as possible. dh doesn't have to drive far for work and drives a civic, so that helps a little (I just wish that he'd learn to stop lead-footing it). When I do go somewhere, I stay at the speed limit and don't touch the gas to get me up the big hills because right on the other side are big downhills and a light or cop always sitting there waiting lol.

LOL...if I tried even doing the speed limit around here I would get run over! You have to "go with the flow" or risk certain death and the flow is usually going 80!

However, I now work from home so I dont have to venture out too often.

I tell myself everyday that I am going to drive a little slower to save gas. That usually lasts until I go out the door 20 minutes behind schedule and still have to pick up 2 other students. (For some reason every morning as soon as my hand touches the door knob, my mom asks well, can you stop and get this or that so we don't make an extra trip, and then takes her time counting out exact change...LOL) So all those good intentions fly right out the window while I am going 70 just to get everyone to class on time.

I was impatient with the slow drivers here and it will take alot for me to all of a sudden acquire patience for the idiots who drive 25 in a 45. I mean, why on earthwould anyone actually want to drive the speed limit?? ;)
