Does anyone know how businesses are getting away with having their phone number fake on our caller IDs? I thought that was illegal. I got a call from a long phone number, at least 12 digits, today and thought it was a foreign country. Turns out it was just a telemarketer in town. Other companies don't even do it on purpose but their numbers only show up as an extension or something else on the caller ID. I hate this it's so annoying I like knowing who is on the other line when I answer.
