I cant find the link that someone had posted a few months back
about cashing in their gold jewelry. I was cleaning out some storage
boxes to repack and came across some old jewelry ( mine and dh's
from past relationships) and we have decided to cash it in. Just
don't know where to go LOL

cash4gold.com otherwise you could probably go to a local pawn shop or jeweler.

I sent a 10K gold herringbone chain to cash4gold and only got $4.85 for it. Since then I've learned I should have taken it somewhere locally...I most likely would have gotten a better price.

i see the commercials for that all the time and wonder about it. I don't have any jewelry to cash in any way.

middle DH almost 7 saw the commercial the other day and said I would like that b/c it's "free" hee hee teaching them early about free stuff is good.

YUP! that place is a rip off.

An ounce of gold on the current market is over $850., so before you start giving a gram or two away (current price for a gram is about $30) (1 ounce = 28+grams)
for a few bucks.. do some reasearch!!!!!

Also, take into consideration that 24k is different than a gram of 10k containing 41.7% gold, 14k 58.3%.

Defonetly go to a local pawn shop or jeweler that buys old jewelry. I took my cheap wedding rings to a local pawn shop and got $800 for them.....trust me, I know my ex didnt pay that much for them!!!!! (or he stole them LOL)

I absolutely agree!! I would never do that again. Only got a couple bucks from them for alot of broken jewelry. I should've returned the check but it's a hassle.

We had a 1920 twenty dollar gold piece. We took it to a local coin shop and he gave us $900 for it. I wonder what it was really worth if he gave us that much. I checked on ebay and they were selling for over $2200. We were pleasantly surprised we figured we'd get two or three hundred at the most.
